T Stands for Tuesday

Good morning everyone, brrrr we have had frigid temperatures here in the Ozarks for several days now. Today (Monday) we were 7 degrees f early morning.

Sunday I made us a pot of clam chowder turned out delicious-I love soups and stews in the colder months. and while working on our taxes-mostly sorting through everything first, shredding what is not needed any more-I watched the two football games to determine who would be in the super bowl.
The Kansas City Chiefs have been so much fun to watch this year-they have an awesome quarterback and a gifted coach. It's been 50 years since the team's last super bowl appearance. So Congrats to them.
The Green Bay Packers game was the opposite- they didn't show up to play a championship game-they were so bad I turned them off and watched a new Hallmark mystery movie instead haha.
I think this will be a good pairing for the super bowl match up. I haven't watched a super bowl game in several years now so looking forward to this year's game.

Cold weather brings homemade chocolate to mind, which is my drink share for Elizabeth's T for Tuesday  These mugs were a garage sale find and they are handmade and perfect for hot chocolate. I used milk, Hersheys Special Dark chocolate, Splenda (for the sweetener) and a splash of vanilla extract.

I don't have any art to share today-although if you missed it-last week I posted a few new journal pages.

This was our good morning view at the lake Monday morning

It is a bit too cold to step outside so this was taken through the window.

Happy T Day wishes everyone.

  1. That Mahone is such a good quarterback, isn't he? Congrats to you for your team winning. And I did watch both games and know what you mean about the second one. The coco sounds yummy for a cold day. Winter is here for sure! Happy early T day Kathy and have a great new week. Hugs-Erika

  2. I thought the same, that the Packers just didn't show up with the same hunger to win as the 49ers. Still, for a first year coach, they did really well, setting an NFL record. Something to be proud of.

  3. My son in NY said that it was so cold outside he felt like his hands were gonna fall off. :/ Nice mugs. Think I need some hot chocolate. :)

  4. It's gotten cold here, too, colder than anytime within the last 2 months, but not nearly as cold as you're getting. Brrrrr! Great mugs. Cozy :) That early morning sky is lovely. Happy T Day!

  5. Sounds very chilly where you are, and hot soups and stews are just the thing. And your homemade chocolate looks great in those beautiful stoneware mugs. Great view of the lake, too, so pretty! Glad you enjoyed watching sport, too. Happy T Day, dear Kathy! Hugs, Valerie

  7. We’ve had the same cold snap. Hot chocolate will be very welcome. Those mugs look perfect to wrap your hands around for extra warmth. Awesome sunrise, but looks like you’re in for more bad weather? Red sky in morning, sailor take warning. Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Happy T Day

  9. Go Chiefs!! I'm so glad they made it because I felt they got cheated last year. For once the Chiefs came out on top. I wonder if anyone remembers that although Joe Cool (Namath) was with the 49ers for about 16 or so years, his last two years were with KC. BTW, I also watched HMM on Sunday, too. That's all I was allowed to do: watch tv, read, eat, drink water and coffee.

I'd sure like some of that hot chocolate about now. It's freezing here, too. Thanks for sharing your lovely new (to you mugs, and your hot chocolate, as well as your beautiful sunrise, too for T this nearly Tuesday. Thanks too, for your sweet comments about my health.

  10. Oh, my goodness, so bad you turned the game off?! I remember a game (Eurobowl) here in Braunschweig with "our" Braunschweig team representing Germany, the other team was from France.
At first we were happy, but when Braunschweig hit 53 to... 0 (zero), oh, my. We felt so very sorry for the guys from France.
And yet, like real men everybody did shake hands. The French guys bowed and we clapped hands. That is what I love about American Football. Nice, fair people.
A game of stupid soccer is on? Yeah, you know when you see all the police driving to the stadium :-(
    (We live nearby).

Taxes, bah. I still have time, luckily.

    Hmmm, vanilla :-)

Beautiful picture, my view is an icy roof ...
A happy T-day and hugs from here.

  11. Oh now that is CCCCOLD!! Soups are just the best especially during the cold months. And several of the T gang have posted hot chocolate, so I just might have to make myself a treat later today:) Stay warm, and happy T day!

  12. Oh gosh, that sounds cold indeed! I agree that a soup or stew is in order. I make soups at least three time a week in the winter.
    What a beautiful sunrise sky.
How boring to have to do tax returns. I am 'fortunate' that I don't pay taxes as my income is too low! One of the advantages of living on a state pension. I'm glad you enjoyed the football game. I don't think I've ever watched one (even in the day when we had a tv).
I just loooove your mugs! And I'm sure I would love the contents too. My mouth is watering as I speak (write).
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  13. I love your hot chocolate mugs, good shape to warm your hands.
My husband and son love American football, eldest son has followed the Washington Redskins since he was a boy, not sure they are doing too well but he stills follows them, Steve follows the cowboys but he also follows the basketball, Golden State Warriors and has been with our youngest son when we go over there, I went once but I can’t stand all the stopping and starting ha,ha I’m easily bored and not into sport
    HappyT Day, Jan x

  14. I can't wait to watch the Superbowl too, we always watch it every year as it's televised in full here in the UK 😀. Your clam chowder sounds heavenly and I love those new mugs, perfect for hot chocolate - yum! That's such a pretty sky, the clouds and colour are amazing, such a lovely way to start the morning! Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x

  15. We lived in WI through the Packers golden era - the Lombardi days. I enjoyed football then. It was so exciting with such a charismatic coach. And such a disappointment when we lost him.

Still, if someone would make me homemade clam chowder and hot chocolate the way you make them, I'd be more than happy to sit in front of the T.V. with you for a cozy wintry weekend of football. 😁

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx

  16. I didn't see the football games, but I was happy to hear the Chiefs won. I'll be able to see the Super Bowl because that gets streamed live on the Internet for free. You're about 10 F colder than I am in the morning here in Connecticut. I'm hoping this arctic blast ends soon. Brrr. Cocoa is always delicious on cold days. And soups and stews hit the spot during this time of year, too. I like your sunrise photo: it's beautiful. I don't blame you for not stepping outside to take it. I've been eyeing the moon the past few mornings, but I say to myself, "I'm not going outside to try to get a photo!" Happy T-Day!
