Happy Weekend and a Little Video
Good morning friends,
Yesterday (Saturday) we finally got a lovely spring day from Mother Nature. Sunny, warmer, and especially No wind. We are still at the freezing temperature in the early mornings but finally beginning to warm up by noon-thinking just in time for the first day of spring.
I spent most of the morning making a birthday dinner for our friend, and the guys went fishing at Ha Ha Tonka state park-our friend was the only one that caught anything-so perfect for him-he will be 76
Yesterday afternoon, I grabbed the camera to take a video and capture the peepers at the pond. I love listening to them-a sure sign of spring. These are little tree frogs and is their spring mating call-wondering if they will be at the lake or not or if they are just in wooded ponds.
I made loaves of sourdough rye bread to go with our corn beef dinner.
We will be off early Sunday to work at the lake house. We have carpet coming to be laid in the bedroom next week-I will start painting the living room on Sunday.
and one day early this coming week my friend is driving in to pick up the rug loom-so a busy week ahead.
Happy weekend everyone!!

T Stands for Tuesday
Happy Tuesday everyone, it seems another month is nearly flown by again.
T is where we share a post with friends including a photo of our beverage. Find the link in my right hand column-hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth-you are most welcome to join us.
The past week has been very up and down weather here in the Ozarks-from cool to warm 60's f down to very cold. Over the weekend very very windy. I took a little video to show how strong the winds were here. and happy dancing I was able to upload it-sometimes with my slow internet it just does not work. Lucky for us we missed the wintry blizzard.
If you click on the video it will enlarge for better viewing
When I have a few moments I have been working on my May fabric journal pages. There was not allot of activity that month but I did do allot of gardening. So I decided to depict that with all the fun buttons and things I had picked up earlier this year. Today I sewed on rows of seed beads hoping to capture the idea of planting seeds. On these May pages I am also working with my letter beads-so this will be a heavier page for sure with all the sewn elements. and May being the flower full moon I will add that in as well.
Here is a peak
I don't have strawberries any more in my garden but we do have wild ones and we love fresh strawberries too
I pulled out buttons and beads of bunnies, gnomes, garden hoses, spade, water can etc seed buttons and a few beads to look like rocks-we'll see how it all goes together.
We started signing papers for the lake house-more to come before the closing.
For my beverage share, well yesterday when I was deleting and saving photos online I mistakenly deleted my latest beverage photo. So I am going to cheat a bit. I have shared my herbal caffeine coffee like beverage in the past-but this time when I went to order-they now come in bags instead of just tea bags-so am loving that. I took advantage of the cyber sale and bought a few flavors

I discovered this brand on the Vitacost site online a couple years ago, where I get good prices for gluten free items. and to go with my coffee beverage I bought myself a new mug-also taking advantage of cyber sales today.
I love to support Yellowstone Forever, the non profit that supports the park and they had cyber sales going on too including a mug I have had my eyes on. This is hand thrown just for them-so I am excited to get this one and enjoy using it.
For the same sale price they also offered a Yellowstone Monopoly game which I was really considering but in the end no one to play the game with me-but I will enjoy this mug.

Do you take advantage of cyber Christmas sales?? I usually buy from a couple sites that I use on a normal basis through out the year and take advantage of their sales. I did want some flannel sheets at a super price at Sams club (big box store like Wal Mart) but they were already sold out early Saturday morning.
Have an awesome Tuesday and week!!

A Couple Videos
Good morning sharing a couple videos I took
This wisteria is gorgeous this year do to all the rain we have been getting almost every day now for a week-and it's age as well.
The first video is of the hummingbirds mid-morning. We have hummingbirds visiting constantly all day long. The largest numbers at one time is at dawn and just before sunset

T Stands for Tuesday & My March Fabric Journal Pages
T Stands for Tuesday is where we gather together with friends with a drink related post. Our hostess Bleubeard and Elizabeth can be found in the link in my right hand column.
Sunday was a nice lazy day for me, it rained all day long. I worked on my journal pages, and read more of the large book Sacajawea (Lewis & Clark Expedition) This has been on my want to read list for a very long time. I had no idea she had lived such a rough life as a child-most of her family had been killed and many children including her were taken as slaves by another tribe)
We have two couples from Wisconsin that will be driving down for a long weekend visit. They will be arriving around 2 am in the morning, so when they wake up it will be Friday. Looks like perfect weather too by then. So I will be cleaning up the house and getting ready for their visit.
On Wednesday our local friends and us will be going back to the Wonders of Wildlife in Springfield, Mo (where I posted about the aquarium) to take advantage of the free tickets to see the wildlife area of the museum. In this post I explained that we Did get a call back about our concerns, and I also told him that we were not able to see both parts which we had paid for. So am looking forward to seeing the rest of the museum.
Over the weekend I have been working on finishing my March pages for my fabric art journal. I needed to stitch everything down and also make up a couple more event pieces. This morning I just finished sewing the first half of the March pages into my journal-loving it! I noticed though I need to go back and correct one of the sewn in pages as I sewed over the line I needed to-for turning the pages. Other than that I am loving my book so far.
I made a couple videos of my work on these pages. The videos are fun to make but with my very very slow rural internet it takes forever to upload a video and these are just 2 minutes or less. So I will rethink that and go back to more photos probably.
If I can believe the weather people, then this coming week we will finally see no more freezing and very cold temps. I am sure hoping so. We really needed this good soaking rain today as well.
How is the weather where you live??
I have been getting back to walking when weather permits. The wild violets are up-I love those. I have used them in all sorts of ways in the past. Healing salves and lip balms, in salads, candied flowers, and one year I blended up allot of the flowers into sugar-violet sugar-it's awesome and very pretty on frostings, and it lasts a long time too. The sun was really bright so the violets look a bit faded
Up near the house I love to let them grow-here is Miss Calico amongst the violets
I will see if can get some better photos of these violets when it stops raining.
This is the time of year, actually earlier, mid April but we have had much colder weather this year-when we only see a very few deer come up for the corn. Things are starting to sprout out in the woods and many of them are having their babies. This past week we have had this group of 2 or 3. I usually stop putting out corn now but since the ducks and geese are here I will continue for them.
I made a fresh batch of my handmade laundry soap last week. I have been making my own laundry soap for over 10 years now.
I had gotten down to nothing so I needed to motivate myself to fine grate 4 bars of soap-after that it goes super fast. I make up a 5 gallon bucket full-it turns into this nice thick gel when set up. I save so much money doing this and washes clothes well, no plastic to recycle and safer for the environment especially here in my woods.
I tried a new cream for my morning decaf beverage. This one is all real no added salt or other unknown stuff haha
Happy T for Tuesday!

Wow Mother Nature is Out of Control & Tech Help for my Friend Plus Videos
Good morning friends.
First off I am hoping everyone is safe from the crazy weather going on in the States. I am thinking she must have chosen Friday 13 for all of this.
Elizabeth I am hoping the tornadoes missed you too and also Deb I hoped they missed you as well. We got the very very strong winds, rains but no hail. and we are to get below freezing again especially Monday morning with temps in the low 20's f again. It is colder and still very windy now as I type.
I also just read about major snow blizzards in the plains-South Dakota, Iowa, northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. Bad weather all the way down to Louisiana. I am hoping this is really the last of winter. My author friend now lives in Yellowstone Park-her husband is a master carpenter for vintage and his year round job will be the Old Faithful Inn I am thinking they are getting lots of snow too.
Also my dear artist friend Barbara just sent out an SOS on her blog. Any of you with blog tech knowledge she needs help. All of her photos have disappeared on her blog even her profile photo. I hope someone knows how to help her. She is just now feeling better to blog and create art again.
I also want to thank my friend Carole who made a tutorial for me on a better way to load videos.
I have been on You Tube for years now following different artists and others but never thought of using it to make a video. Also I can make a long video there and then link it from there to here which saves data on my blog-which I never would have thought of either.
Here are the videos I did that day on my walk and playing with making videos-since You Tube is part of Google it uploads pretty neat-I just hit the video link then clicked on my You Tube Videos and just chose the ones I wanted--easy haha
The background noise is the howling winds that day, and a look at some of our ponds.
Happy Saturday everyone

Sharing a Video: In The Pond
I am one of those no tech persons. I could do away with most tech stuff-but since retirement and the fact that we live pretty isolated in our woods-I love all of my friends in my computer. So I would really miss that and all of you if I was not connected.
I have a GE point and shoot digital camera that I bought several years ago and ended up taking it with to Yellowstone last year May. I love this one and they don't seem to make them any more but when the battery goes out the company always sends me a new one. This camera has a video feature and I have forgotten all about it til now. I wish now I would have remembered to use this in Yellowstone last year.
Anyways a couple years ago my computer system had gotten totally fried by a lightning strike to a couple of trees on our property-the current went underground and zapped me. So in the interim a friend loaned me her old dated computer which did not support my videos so I just totally forgot the video feature.
Anyways sorry for the long explanation. I was out feeding the wildlife and discovered that Sir John and the Muscovy duck pair had finally come to terms in sharing the pond up by the house and the corn without squabbling. A first-Sir John has been trying to run them out of "His" pond.
I was glad to see Sir John and one of the ducks swimming in the pond together. The male was on the side and Mrs. Muscovy was swimming around and bathing.
I grabbed the camera and by the time I came outdoors with it Sir John was sitting up by the bank and Mrs. Muscovy was still swimming. Sorry I thought that was the video that I uploaded but that was the one they are saying is too large sigh
I will need to remember to make shorter videos-that one was about 30 seconds long-do any of you know what is the maximum video length to upload is? thanks
If you click on the video it will enlarge to view better. I am really sorry the one with them swimming would not load
Afterwards I saw them both out of the pond together which is this video, and a bit later Mr. Muscovy came over to join them. So I think they are getting along now. lol

I really enjoy seeing birds in our ponds. I think they are choosing this one since it is close to the corn and sunflower seeds.
Update: it is so warm here (would you believe mid 80's f) that I went out for my walk and was just able to do a mile instead of the 3 miles I like to do. So I grabbed the camera too for fun
This is me and my shadow
I thought I would try the video feature again, I will need to upload them at another time-being so rural our internet is very expensive and we are also timed for the amount of data we use. these videos are taking a very long time to load so I just remembered we will get charged if I upload more now.
