Happy Friday Evening & a Painting

  Good evening everyone,

I thought I would share my painting from the sunrise photo I had taken.
I had a really hard time with this-getting the grey-bluish purple right. It's better than it first started out and I am fairly pleased being my first attempt of using one of my photos for inspiration. I am working on not stressing over it and just enjoying this paint journey.

The painting is relaxing for me-one can get lost in it-but the results I would say I am definately a fiber artist and Not a painter.😀
I am still thinking of mixing paints with my mixed media journaling. We will see how this develops-I have plenty of paints to play with. I am loving the wet pallet as I always have paints left over and this way they last and do not dry out-really like that.

The paints were still a bit wet when I took these photos.

Yesterday the weather was fabulous here at the lake house-83 degrees f
I asked Larry if he wanted to eat out on the deck, he said yes and grabbed a bottle of hard root beer.
I made a chunky beef soup with tossed salad Lots of boats on the water too all sizes from ocean size boats to small fishing boats to recreation boats. I wish they would not allow those huge ocean size boats here on the lake-

Happy Weekend everyone. Stay safe those of you in the path of the t storms and possible tornadoes.

  3. You would think there would be restrictions on the size of boats that can be in the lakes. We are having a dark, thundery day. Have been staying home many weeks now. Lots of crafters and artists offering patterns and free online workshops so have signed up for several. Thank goodness for all our hobbies to keep up occupied. I'm certainly never bored. I create for the sake of it; joy in the process. Never trying to perfect anything. I'm not a fan of rules. Just go for it. :)

    1. We think there should be restrictions too on this very large boats for this lake-but I think they were trying to build up the tourist trade here on the lake maybe they will look at it again since there are more people here now.
I have a noticed a few online things free too-That is my "line" too hugs I have so many different things here for crafting that I won't get bored either. this has been a tough week for me though Stressful as too many people do not listen and Stay home to Save lives.
      Happy weekend-hugs

    1. Yes one day with 83 degrees it was a Wow for sure we were the only area in our state of Missouri that got that warm .
This is one of Larry's favorites drinks now that I keep around for him. I found it at the Aldi store everyone says it is the best tasting root beer ever-I can't try it as it is not gluet free.
      Happy weekend-hugs

Hubs has been wanting to take his kayak out fishing but its been pretty windy here.. I think the storms will miss us this time.. Hopefully they will miss you too.. Hugs! deb

    1. Thank you Deb-The next I was more pleased with it.
Yes it was beautiful day, we had rain o Saturday, and lots of wind late-today the sun is shining. I couldn't believe the number of boats out on the lake-too many people in many of the large boats though-unless they are all living in the same house together-
we did miss the giant balls of hail thank goodness-hugs

  7. WOW! You say you're not a painter?! I say you are-you can do both fiber and paint art. I think you will learn much from using photos. I know I do. If you have a tablet you can display the picture on, then you don't have to print it out. I have to do that because my ink refills cost more than the printer did.
You are much warmer where you are, but we are in the 50's, so I won't complain.
    You stay safe too. Hugs...

    1. Good morning, yes my printer ink is extremely expensive too-I have my desk computer but Larry has a lap top-I may just do that next time thanks this was a splurge to print this off.
Thank you for the compliment I may paint this again to see if I can get the painting a bit lighter-my paints seem to come out too dark all the time-I will work on that--
That was just one day before it cooled down storms in the area now.
      Hugs

  10. Beautiful painting. I really like those colors. We had some nice weather, but as Anne said, not that warm. Lunch on the deck would be a little, slice of heaven. Take care.

  12. We get those giant boats on lakes around here and it is really overkill. Some people just think bigger is better I guess. But how nice to be able to eat outside. Congrats for getting a top 5 at Try It On Tuesday. And your latest painting is amazing. I really like it. If it is relaxing and you enjoy it it doesn't have to be museum quality, or at least that's what I tell myself. I am not a great painter either, but it is fun. That's enough, right? Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Hugs-Erika

Yes you are right the painting is something new to me and fun-hugs

  14. oooo nice! I like your painting, and this one is a particularly lovely scene :) Restrictions on those huge boats makes sense to me. Money rules, though, and people with money influence the rules.

We had that same gorgeous day here. So sweet to sit outside in the sunshine :)
