Journal Page-Vintage-For AJJ

  Good morning Tuesday,

My morning plans got changed, frustrated I spent time in my craft room and made a journal page for  Art Journal Journey's theme Vintage

I still have several Ideals magazines that I have kept since the mid '60s so guessing those are vintage now. I spotted a poem and photos of butter molds so decided that was perfect for my page.

I grabbed the background paper from my paper stash, cut out the butter molds and the poem and it's title. I printed off photos of the butter churn and someone that reminded me of my Grandma churning butter and added those to my pages.

  1. My Grandmother always had Ideals magazines in the 40s and 50s that would surely be vintage now. My family ended up with some of them when we visited as kids, but I don’t know where they are now many decades later. They were so lovely, so is your page.

  4. A butter churn is definitely vintage. And those butter molds are pretty. Too bad you can't find butter made in molds. I am sure maybe someplace, but not any where I've seen. What a great page Kathy. Thanks for sharing it with us for Wendy's challenge at AJJ. And love the beautiful sky photos too. Happy mid-week. Hugs-Erika

    1. That would be a cool thing to find-butter formed in the molds. I had a few of these butter molds, and when I churned butter I used them-but I couldn't get the butter out of the molds in one piece-there must be a secret to that.
      Happy mid week hugs

  5. Your vintage journal page is near and dear to my heart. I grew up helping my mother make butter so know the process well. I have a few butter molds, but sadly not one of mother’s. How beautiful the lake was this morning. What a way to start the day!

  7. I think I have a couple of copper butter molds. I think mine are not as flowery as some you used on your page. I've never heard of Ideals magazine, but I love your butter churner and the molds. This is perfect for Wendy's theme at Art Journal Journey, too, dear.

  10. Very nice. A craft room is a perfect place to take frustrations. Creating is like free therapy.
