Taking a Bit of a Break

  Hi Everyone,

     I decided I need a bit of a break from posting.

 I do want to still visit and see what you are all up to though, especially your art and doings. So I will be popping in to do that.

    This rougher than usual winter has gotten me down a bit, (feeling my age for sure) and I have one bad knee that I tore allot of cartilage back around 1998-climbing into a tall tree stand haha-that is really acting up again-bad timing since I need to get this ice off the steps and hill, but then from the first ice storm is why this is acting up on me now.  So I am a bit down in the dumps right now and don't want my regular posting to reflect that.

  3. The ice has been brutal and so has this winter. I can see why you would be a bit despondent. Please don't stay away too long. I'm especially going to miss Cast Iron Saturdays.

  5. Sometimes we all need a break, so just kick back and enjoy. You write a wonderful blog and put more into it than anyone I know. I still like to go back and reread some of your older posts. There is a library of wonderful information there. Of course, you must be bracing for another winter storm next week. We thought we were done with them, but Mother Nature seems to have other ideas. Take care!

  6. When we are depressed we must try to focus on what pleases us, what gives us happiness.
    Please don't let yourself be defeated, sometimes the brain is lazy and tells us: - don't do this, don't do that- Then, it's time to ignore it.

  7. We are so entrenched in winter here. We have ice that looks like small glaciers-no kidding-all the neighbor's water is coming down our yard. Our paths are scary. Under the ice it's water, so it's hard to walk anywhere. We are both going stir crazy being stuck inside....so now I've let off a lot of steam-I just can't wait for spring! Anyway-take care-I'll miss you.

    1. I know out east gets much worse winters-we retired here to sw missouri for all the seasons but much milder winters than we had up on the illinois-wisconsin border before retirement.
      we do get breaks in the weather here-which is a good thing. I will back for food wednesdays I think. right now I feel trapped not being able to walk up the hill to the mailbox

  8. I'm sorry to hear this, but completely understand. I hope Spring gets here soon, and hopefully that will help cheer you up. I love seeing all of the Spring flowers. Signs of things coming back to life. And then walking around won't be as treacherous for you, also. (I hate Winter.)

  9. Dear Kathy I certainly understand feeling down with this winter's challenges. Yes the ice has been so treacherous. Keep "looking up" friend - spring is on its way and when it arrives wow won't it be great! Hugs! P.S. Take care of your knee. Thanks for all the good things you share here at Hummingbird Studio with us each week.

  12. Winter can be hard. I look forward to more sunshine. I wouldn't worry about sharing the down times. We all have them, and it can be encouraging to hear others' perspectives.

    Enjoy your break {hug}

  13. I think a lot of people are down right now. I know I am. Blogging is one of the things that keeps me up. However, everyone has to do what is right for them. I do write on my blog when I am feeling poorly. It's another way to get encouragement and hope. So I am sending you lots of goodness for your life.
