Our Last T Stands for Tuesday already for September '19.
You are most welcome to join us for T-just share a photo with your beverage and link up with our hostess Bleubeard and Elizabeth-find link in my right hand column.
I don't have much to share this week. The last few days I have been finishing up painting the white trim in our bathroom and the folding doors that hides the washer and dryer when closed. There is also some good deep and long shelving above the machines-so that's perfect for storage. Today I got out the brown paint that I painted the doors with and painted up some trim around the bathroom door. I have a little brown paint left so will just use it up by giving another coat on the doors-so the paint does not go to waste.
This morning probably around 6:30 am the sky was gorgeous so I grabbed my little digital camera, and a cup of my chicory beverage and sat at the patio table enjoying the sunrise and the start of the day.
I forgot to take a photo of my beverage then, so took one just now. This is what is left after drinking a big cup of hot and then switching over to adding ice cubes for the rest of the morning. It's hot here still-in the 90's f
Just before sunrise
Wow these two photos are inspiration for a weaving or needle felted project or I have been wanting to try watercolor painting-we'll see totally out of my norm
and the sun rising
I had a taste for a fall dessert today even though we do not have fall temperatures as of yet. So I made an apple crisp in cast iron.
This was sooo delicious all it needed was a little whipped cream
To keep the carbs down since apples are already high in carbs-I made this with no pie crusts but made a topping with gluten free oats, a little gluten free flour, a little butter, coconut oil with the apples I used splenda, coconut sugar, apple pie spice, instant tapioca for thickening.
Happy T everyone!!
Love those sunrise photos, this is always my fave time of day, such beautiful colours. Would be fun to try to paint it, that's for sure. You have kept yourself busy around the house, too. And your apple crisp looks wonderful, so yummy, I swear I can smell it from here! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! What a view! It would be hard to tear myself away to do anything else. My young apple trees in the orchard have a scanty few apples this year; maybe just enough for an apple crisp! Like Valerie, I think I can smell its spicy goodness all the way from here.
ReplyDeleteThose sunrise photos are spectacular! Very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteYes, you apple crisp looks delish!
Happt T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Beautiful photos, go get those watercolors. I’d try the first photo. There’s an added interest there with water rippling. You can do it!
ReplyDeleteoh what gorgeous sunrise photos!! Still quite hot here too but I'm OK with it:) Your apple crisp looks SO good!! Would you mind sharing your recipe?
ReplyDeleteHappy T day!
The apples are layered like I do for an apple pie-layer of apples, sprinkle on the apple pie spice, then the instant tapioca, then the sweetener-I used splenda and coconut sugar-repeat til you get to the top. for the crumble I just kinda made it up haha-I found a gluten free version on pinterest and changed it a bit-in a bowl add 1/4 cup total of butter and coconut oil add in 3/4 cup rolled oats, 1/2 cup flour-I used gluten free flour, and a sweetener I used coconut sugar-instead brown sugar is good. combine and sprinkle on top I baked for an hour at 400 degrees f in a cast iron pan-can do the same in a deep dish pie pan.
Deletethank you!! I have copied and saved, and I do have a 12" cast iron pan I like to use:)
DeleteAwesome-this baked up really nice in the cast iron
DeleteGorgeous sunrise Kathy. How nice to get up and watch the sunrise to start the day. And you apple crisp sure looks yummy. I made some a few weeks back and it is the perfect fall dessert, isn't it? I hope your house finishing is going well and you cool off soon. Happy T day Kathy. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThe sunrise pics are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I´ve never heard of apple crisp!
It's still hot here, too, Kathy. The temps don't seem to cool, even at night. I love your early morning sunrise photos. They would certainly paint up nicely, too. I think the first one is doable, especially if you like to paint.
ReplyDeleteYour apple crisp looks wonderful. I used to make it, but never gluten free. It looks yummy. Must have gone perfectly with your chicory beverage, too. Thanks for sharing your sunrise photos, your apple crisp, your update on your door painting, and your chicory drink with us for T this Tuesday.
The sunrise is spectacular Kathy. You have captured it so well with the photos. What a privilege to live in such a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteYour pie looks really scrummy. I read your explanation above too. I wish I could get hold of all those sugar substitutes. I can get them online but the postage (from USA) is exorbitant. I am letting my palate get used to less sugar, and I try not to buy anything with sugar as part of the ingredients. (Surprisingly difficult).
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
Your sunrise photos are gorgeous. My eyes turned green that you can sit out in the morning and watch the sunrise and not watch ice form on your beverage. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteWow, what an amazing sunrise! I would feel very blessed to witness this and have such a wonderful view across the lake, you are so lucky to live on the lake 😀. Sounds like you've been keeping busy with all that painting too! Wishing you a lovely week and Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunrise photos Kathy, lovely colours to be inspired by.
ReplyDeleteThwe apple pie looks delicious.
Happy T day wishes Kathy.

Wow, you got some gorgeous sunrise pictures, Kathy. You definitely have to make some art with that inspiration.I sure would love a bite of that apple crisp. You should write gluten-free cookbook. Your creations are very clever and look delicious!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Eileen xx
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous sunrise with us! I do the same thing add ice to my tea at lunch time. :) I would love to have your recipe for the apple crisp in the cast iron skillet. I had to get one, and rarely use it. It is almost too heavy for me to manage. It is a large one. I like the idea of no crust, too. Happy 1st day of October and happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular sunrise photos!
ReplyDeleteI've heard lowering my carbs could help these seasonal allergies. It's harder than it looks with _everything_ having carbs *sigh* That apple dish looks delicious :) Happy T Tuesday!
Beautiful sunrise photos. It looks lovely and peaceful there. Still in the 90s is pretty hot, but probably normal for your area. We're mostly in the 70s here in CT, but today warmed up. Tomorrow is forecast to reach 84, but then only 59 for Thursday. Your apple crisp looks delicious! Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have been keeping busy with all the painting. Those views are lovely and you captured them beautifully in your photos.
ReplyDeleteThat apple crisp looks delicious and makes me want to do some fall baking.
Happy tea Day,
Kate
We are in the wrong position to see a sunrise but even then it wouldn't have that great backdrop you have! It would make a great needlefelted piece! Your Apple dessert looks delicious- I stopped using sugar and replaced it with cinnamon - works a treat! I'm still working on how to get a good crisp top in the oven without using sugar! Belated Happy T Day! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteOhh those photographs are really gorgeoys Kathy !! Love the sunset, thanks so much for sharing with us. This apple crisp may be delicious !! yummy.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very nice Friday, and send big hugss
