Good Morning Sunday & the Eagle Family

Wow what a treat to see the eagle family this morning.

At first just one and the eagle was sitting in a very different spot, then the youngster arrived  and then the second eagle. Unless the adults are side by side I can't always tell which is the female and the male. The female is always the larger though

  3. Yes, Kathy, you're right. The female is larger than the male...about 30% actually. Once the adult pair is ready to claim their territory, the immature will be chased off and no longer allowed near their nesting site....:)jp

    1. I just looked it up and the juveniles do usually leave after 10 weeks being fledged. January here is the courtship for the adults so time from them to go on their own. there was no aggresive behavior seen

  4. Enjoy those eagles every chance you get. It is such a privilege to share your life with these magnificent creatures. Today we saw a Barred Owl and the warm feelings from that encounter will last the whole week!

    1. Yes we really enjoy every day the eagles visit-they make me smile every time I see them. How awesome you saw the Barred Owl. I just looked them up-love their faces. I have not seen an owl here at the lake yet. but we did hear owls all the time at our woods home
