Saturday Afternoon at the Movies

This is where we share our favorite movies-Movies we want to watch over and over again. I was inspired by CJ's posting of Saturday Afternoon at the Movies to post some of my favorites.

This week I had a couple movies in mind, but decided on a favorite of mine by Hallmark channels.  The Love Letter.

I love this movie's plot so much. The couple times I had caught it on my tv, I never got to see the movie in it's entirety from the beginning, and I have not seen it playing for awhile now. Those of you that stream etc can find the movie online to watch for free.

I ended up looking online for a copy of the movie last year and found it on ebay-but did not read carefully as my movie came from Greece lol It is a Hallmark entertainment movie but the writing is all in Greece-good thing the movie is in English ha ha

Looking online to share with you I learned the movie was based on a novel and also on a short story  information here  This was actually an interesting read.
This is a love story that I can watch over and over again-I usually cry a bit too, especially the ending. Don't want to give the ending in case you want to watch.  A man buys an antique desk, discovers a hidden drawer about the original owner that lived during the civil war era-he discovers he can write to her-and she gets the letters-more interesting twists through out the movie.

   Information here

the trailer here which pretty much shows the story--so if you don't want to see too much-don't watch 😉

I also saw the entire film listed for free to watch online on several links

  1. I don't normally go for mushy love stories, but this one actually looks good. I'm so very glad you shared it and showcased it for us.

  5. Sounds like an interesting plot . I haven't watched much TV for months now. Using that time to read instead.

  6. I don't watch that channel or love stories or movies with these kinds of time crossing elements, so it's no wonder I've never heard of this one lol We need to be open to new things or we get stale, though, so if I come across it I'll give it a try :)
