Late yesterday afternoon I filmed a few videos of the hummingbirds. Usually just before dark we have many more hummingbirds than this shows that fly in. Hubs has so much stuff in the way to the left-a cabinet filled with fishing equipment for one that I tried to keep out of the film Enjoy Click for full screen
You can see the wisteria is quite thick this year and loaded with buds ready to bloom
Wow! I've never seen so many hummingbirds. Even my friend, Red, who has a hummingbird feeder doesn't get that many. I have one that has been stopping by to check on the honeysuckle vine. Some buds, but no blooms yet
Wow, this was a gorgeous video, you are so lucky to get these amazing visitors to you home. Thank you for sharing, I would be sitting for ages watching them. Yvonne xx
Wow- you have a whole lot of hummingbirds and a whole lot of feeders too. I love hummingbirds so you have inspired me to get another feeder or 2. Hugs-Erika
I had read when I was first learning about feeding them when we moved here-to hang as many feeders as you want to maintain-as that is how many hummingbirds you will attract
Boy you have a serious community of hummers there. I am sure they are very happy for your kindness. I don't feed them because of ants but my neighbors do and we all have lots of flowers that attract them. They are flying around right now. When my russian sage blooms with all the blue flowers they go wild.
Hi Susan, yes these will atrack ants but I have never had them come into the house-a very good thing. the worse I get is that in another month the bees and wasps will be here-then it is a fight to the feeders. I am working on a flower garden area for pollinators-see my t for tuesday post. I hoping that will supplement these hummers and mostly attrack the butterflies
Oh my goodness, your video is mesmerising! I loved watching your hummingbirds feed and wow, I was really surprised at how many there were - amazing 😁. Thanks so much for sharing and wishing you a wonderful week! J 😊 x
Thought I commented but don’t see it. Trying again, Kathy, I love your videos! This is amazing! I never saw so many hummingbirds at once! Wisteria is beautiful, but it killed a neighbor’s big tree by taking over. So now I reluctantly pull it out wherever it sprouts, we have a ton of big trees. It is the most beautiful and fragrant of all!

ReplyDeleteHi Jo you are most welcome. It is really difficult to get a good photo so I thought I would try a video this time
DeleteWisteria is the one tree I had to identify in forestry that I never actually saw in person. Wow, what a beauty!
