Merry Christmas

Hoping all of you experiencing this arctic blast of winter are safe and warm.

Here at the lake today we are finally staying out of the negative temperatures and will actually warm up to the low 20's today-wow that will feel like a heat wave here.

I will be venturing outdoors later today to see if I can shovel a path up the steps and hill to the mailbox.

I will be making us tamales today too

Merry Christmas Eve and Day

  1. Hi Kathy!!!! Girl night before last we got down to 12 and both toilets and one sink froze! Late in the afternoon they finally unfroze... Last night we went down to 15. we got up every couple of hours and flushed toilets and ran faucets and we woke up this morning with nothing frozen..... All of us in this new neighborhood had freezing problems .. come to find out our waterlines are run in the attic! Have you ever heard of water lines in the attic?? Anyway we have one more freezing cold night then we come out of it.. We are getting to 40 today.. most people should thaw out.. i would think..

I'm glad your doing okay! MUST get to that mailbox!!! Might have some goodies...lol Love my mailbox and would definitely dig my way to it.. Merry Christmas and much love, deb

    1. wow no I have never heard of waterlines in the attic-I wonder if you can insulate those pipes somehow? this was probably unusual cold for your area-but better to see if can insulate than get frozen pipes next time. Our friend down the road got the flu or a bad cold so we called to check on him his wife said the pipes all froze-he had told us last week, that there was a spot he needs to fix so they don't lose the water.
I am grateful no frozen pipes and the electricity stayed on for us.
Yes one Must get to the mailbox haha that's what my husband said as a joke-it was a challenge but I got up there-smiles
