Watercolor Crayons??

   Good morning Thursday,

I subscribe to Crayola and in my inbox this month was a coupon for a large discount for my birthday. I have read a little bit about watercolor crayons-so I thought I would get those. Thought they would be fun to try out.

It arrived really fast, but the brush was missing, looked all through the packaging-nope no brush. So I wrote them online thanked them for the coupon and fast ship, but no brush. Told them I did not expect them to send me the missing brush but just wanted them to know about it. A few hours later the company apologized and is sending me out a whole new replacement. Wow did not expect that at all, I have always liked Crayola products through the years. Around Christmas shopping time they have large discounts-so that's when I stock up if I need anything.

Have any of you used watercolor crayons? I found this video They work allot like the watercolor pencils but looks like perhaps more color from the crayons?

I have not had any art days for many weeks now-I need to do that and soon smiles

    1. I didn't get to playing with them today-but I did watch another video-where it shows using a water brush (which I have) and use that to wet the crayon and then place on the paper-looks like fun

Very interesting (weird, though, how she holds the crayon/brush! I´ve never seen that!)

Wow, great company to deliver a new set!

Looking forward to your outcome (will it be your lake?). Hugs!

  5. I have never played with watercolor crayons, but I have water soluble crayons. I suspect they are quite similar. I had to buy my water brush. Nice Crayola did that for you. I look forward to seeing what you create.

  6. Aaaww thanks for showing my card Kathy! Yes it does look nice on your mantel.. :) Your pie looks delish too.. ! I once had a coworker that made the most beautiful pies... I may have already told you this.. She would make pies for every get together.. work .. holiday.. My hubby worked on her computer she'd gift him a pie.. Gorgeous.. But no one had the heart to tell her that they were absolutely tasteless.. I don't know what she was doing wrong.. Can you send that last piece of pie over here?! I LOVE crayola myself.. And have learned not to spend my money on other brands.. Crayola is the best.. They make them in the town or close to the town where alot of my family lives.. and my daughter was born.. Easton, PA.. or one of the nearby towns.. It was nice of them to take such good care of you.. I wrote to Wilton one time.. about their muffin baking tin.. telling them i thought they had a design flaw.. lol .. um yeah.. like what do i know? But how the pan was made is that around each muffin hole was a seam and was a #*%$#@ to clean and i had a frustrated moment and wrote them.. They wrote me , apologized , said they were forwarding to design team and sent me a brand new , still flawed , pan.. lol Have a good Friday and Weekend Kathy!! We had some good rain last night.. thinking it might make it easier to pull up and discard my SunFlowers which have finally bit the dust.. Hugs! deb

    1. I Love crayola too and I think most of their products are still make in the usa which I fully support. I was surprised with the missing brush and just wanted their quality control to know about it. I don't need much anymore. the last few years I have taken advantage of their big sales during christmas shopping times-they really are the best I agree and cool you lived near them

    2. I grew up making pies-I was really good at it but then I had farm girl cooks in my family-smiles she must not have been adding much sweetener to her pies-that's sad cause they are a bit of work to make now I make more crisps so I don't have to deal with gluten free pie crusts-haha

  7. Hi Kathy, I've never used watercolor crayons so I'm interested in them and learning more. Pretty much these days I'm just painting with my regular watercolors. I have so many supplies I need to find homes for.
