Good Morning Monday-This & That

   Happy Monday and New Week.

Do you shop online?  We live rural so I find it easier and less expensive to shop online for many household goods especially. and Today is Cyber Monday.  I don't have Amazon Prime but if you do they have loads of specials going on.

We are still very cold here-in the 20's F  Some days with wind

The second camera has broke and doesn't work-sigh  I liked this one,  but didn't like that it used AA batteries instead of those flat lithium batteries. I could only take about 8 photos before I needed to change batteries-didn't think that made sense. The third time I took photos the camera stopped working. We tried different batteries to be sure. I bought this one on Walmart.com as they had the best online price I could find. Nice that I can take it into the store to get my money back right away. It needs to warm up a bit more though for me to get on the roads. We have had a thin glazing of ice here for a few days. Looks like mid week we will get out of the 20's F for a day or two.

Soooo bummer I have spent lots of time looking at cameras-again over the weekend. I chose one that Larry thought looked good but it has no reviews-I always read reviews to help me choose a product, since I can send it back from Amazon I just ordered it.  Never have had so much difficulty with cameras before.

We are still enjoying watching pelicans and seagulls on the lake. and I am back to being aggravated by the squirrels eating all the bird food-sigh. They are funny to watch but if they would share I wouldn't mind so much-but No they stay and eat til  all the seeds are gone. Oh well that's squirrels haha  I did set up a suet feeder that they haven't bothered as of yet. That has been bringing in the woodpeckers.

Do you watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Christmas parade?  I didn't enjoy that at all this year, perhaps do to  my age now. I recorded it so I could buzz through the too many commercials. I didn't know any of the singers except for a couple. When Santa arrived on his too cool float which I thought was the highlight of the parade-they only showed about a minute of it before they ended the show. I won't watch that again

I did enjoy watching good football games including an exciting college Notre Dame game-they should end up in the top 10 with an at home playoff game. I recorded some of the new Hallmark Christmas movies-again to buzz off the too many commercials and was super disappointed with the film that was based on the KC Chiefs football game. It featured Kelce's Mom-who is always at the games but Wow this was major dork haha. It was really bad.   I find myself watching more Christmas movies on the Great American Family network now instead. The plots have more substance.

On a happier note-I did finish most of the deep cleaning in our main living areas. I do still need to tackle my craft room with a good vacuum and dusting-and perhaps a bit of organizing. Soon I will need to downsize but am not ready for that yet., as I never know what craft I want to "play" with.  Now the house is in order, hoping to get back to my slow stitch bags.

Happy December Everyone

Browsing online for pelicans in Missouri-I found this one at Truman Lake

and this one taken in Sedalia Mo

    1. Hugs I think so too that little cameras are on the way out. I had one I loved that lasted 20 years after that I can't find anything that works. I did so some searching and ran into a good sounding camera from a video I watched. It was a sony but new ones are over a thousand dollars. Used ones begin around $100 going up-but don't want a used one that could be worse.
Are looking for items at the scrap yard? that could be fun

We take ours and we collect cans from the Golf Club we go to.. We just turned in 3 BIG bags and took home $45..
We do shop online.. not for food but other things we want... otherwise we are big Walmart shoppers... one stop shopping..lol I just had to get a refund on a Weather book i bought the Grandlittle... it never showed up after a week...
I watched the parade when i was little and even when my daughter was little... but i haven't caught it in years....
I cleaned for Thanksgiving company so i'm sitting in a fairly clean house...lol Time to start pulling out the Christmas decor... but first today ... a gorgeous day i'm going to go weedeat... again... We haven't had a freeze yet... hugs! deb

  6. We watch the parade out of Detroit each year even though I have never been to it it is in our state. In fact it started the same year as the Macy's one did, only it was called the Hudson parade back in the day. God luck with your camera. I take pics using my phone and send them to my email and then download to my computer. Janice

    1. that's cool I have not heard of a big one in Detroit-when I grew up in Indiana we only got the Macys on the tv. Most people take photos on their phone but I don't need a smart phone-no one to call Larry has had one for over 20 years but I wanted him to have one being on the road so much when we were moving down to Missouri when we retired. hopefully the 3rd camera will work

  7. That camera doesn't sound very good, sorry to read you had all those problems with it. And it's been cold so many places, including at my house. This morning it was only 19 degrees. I guess it's December, right? I hope you have a good week and good luck with next camera. hugs-Erika

    1. Thank you Erika, I think that most people use their phones for photos is why these cameras are made so poorly sad. Yep it is December we have been spoiled with nice weather-and then went to the 20's for a couple weeks now Have a good new week hugs

  9. Really beautiful photos. We give up with the squirrels stealing the bird food. They are acrobats the way the hang to get it. I missed the parade this year but I find that I am not liking the new music on many accounts. Our weather is cooler but warm here in Florida.

    1. thank you, the squirrels are funny creatures to watch for sure-but they don't share. I agree I didn't care for most of the music either-I come from an older generation-Glad you have warmer weather-

  10. I hate online-shopping. Website is German, yet it takes forever as the stuff comes all the way from China.
    Wow, you really have camera-drama!
Peanut says sorry for his cousin´s behavior...
LOL. I have the TV on my right monitor and surf/do stuff on the left one. Come ads I turn the sound off.
Ack, I need to clean...I hate it because... despite it´s just Ingo and I... I could clean each week!
We´re in one boat, huh, hugs to you and the lake!

    1. Good morning, living so rural I would have to drive an hour to get to stores for most things other than food items so now it is easier and less stressful to order online-and easy to compare prices as well. However lately I have been waiting for a package from fedex-long story-hopefully today it will arrive.
yes camera drama for sure haha My third one has not been shipped yet
      Thank you to Peanut
Sane here at least the floors. my Mom was a clean freak-over did it so I keep things clean, but behind on dusting usually. It all looks nice right now.
Have a good rest of your week hugs

  11. I do shop for items on Amazon only. We don't have many stores here and what they are are crap. It's 100 miles to good stores. As for a camera, with what you are using it for a point and shoot may be your best bet. I have a really good, expensive camera but I have 2 point n shoots that I use for everyday. Have a great day today.

  12. Dear Kathy, I wish you good luck with your camera. We also shop online and especially read the reviews... because with so many offers you often don't know what to buy. But of course I prefer to go to a shop (if one is available), especially if it is a smaller specialist shop... because the enjoyment is unbeatable... but the price is often unbeatable online...
Thanks for your tip for my sewing needles... I had really bad needles because I rarely sewed by hand... that's changing now :-))) I have one quilt finished and two more still waiting.
I now use shorter needles – like you wrote to me!!! - with better quality... that helps a lot :-))
    Your pelicans are beautiful.
A hug comes to you and I wish you a lot of fun crafting and sewing.
    Happy December greetings from Viola

    1. Happy December Viola, I am so happy you found different needles-ii is really amazing how many different types of needles are available. I started using hand sewing needles from Japan called Tulip I really like them. I found them when I was looking into sashiko.
I am happy to read you are enjoying quilting-I always enjoyed that very much. I made a huge flannel quilt with wool batting that ended up pretty thick-haven't figured out how to quilt this yet-will dig that out this winter for sure after getting some of the little bag made
      Happy December and sewing hugs

  16. We do a lot of online shopping mostly through Amazon. This year it really came in handy to buy gifts that the youngest granddaughter requested and then have them sent to her PA home and her mother will wrap them since we won't visit until after then holiday. We are near a number of major stores, but prefer the ease of online for most electronics and some household items.

We watched most of the Thanksgiving Day parade for the first time in years and I felt bad for the performers and spectators as it was a very soggy holiday.

Too bad the camera didn't work out well for you. I have a small Olympus Tough all weather camera and maybe you would want to check out that one. This model is still in production and up to a Tough 6, so you might find an older model still available at less cost. It uses rechargeable lithium batteries.

    1. Good morning, That was a bummer that it was raining during the parade. I had not watched it recent years
I agree buying online is really convenient and easy to compare prices and shipping costs too. recently fedex has lost a package so they sent another one and that was marked as lost too but it showed up late sunday nite. they must be swamped with packages this year.
I checked on the camera you suggested it does look nice but on amazon they are over 500.00 and used on ebay are over 300.00. I would not buy a used one. I had found a really nice sony too with excellent reviews but was shocked at the over 1000.00 price wow. I don't need anything this expensive but perhaps they don't make good ones in the under 200.00 range any more. amazon still has not mailed out the camera ordered a couple weeks ago sigh.
      Have a good week

  17. Yes, it is sadly true that point & shoot camera have spiked in price and I suspect it is because of people using cell phones now. The Olympus camera I mentioned included and even okder models seem to be holding their value.
