It has been very very cold here with the wind added in. Next couple of days a bit of a warm up coming in, which will be nice. The other morning early at dawn I couldn't believe there was a fishing boat on the lake-it was in the low 20's F brrrr The fisherman must have had some sort of heated clothing I am thinking.
With the strong winds that gives white caps on the lake-I know crazy right?-it has been much fun watching the sea gulls fishing. Still a few pelicans around as well.
I made a couple batches of the chocolate popcorn this morning that we love-glad this freezes so well so I can hide most all of it for later-smiles. (note I should have the recipe for this on a past post-search tool at end of blog page, or I posted it on my Instagram page just now as well.)
In the front of this photo is a vintage rocking chair with a pillow I made for a seat cushion. This was nautical fabric that my blog friend in Greece sent me several years ago-thanks Mia. I had enough fabric to make a couple of pillows.
I need to run some errands tomorrow so glad it will be warming up for a few days. Around us will be getting lots of rain but I think here at the lake we may get missed.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Holidays.
and Happy Winter Solstice
It's time to hibernate and wrap in a warm fleecy blanket. We have been watching a bit of football in the evenings. I could use an extra hand in the kitchen - wish you were here! Merry Christmas, dear friend!
ReplyDeleteThat would be so much fun in the kitchen with you-hugs
DeleteNice blanket. Warming up tomorrow for us too -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeletethanks-enjoy the warmer weather hugs
DeleteYour blankets sound fun and useful Kathy. We don't have any sports blankets, but we have lots of college hockey shirts for our favorite team. :) Have a wonderful Christmas holiday Kathy. I know your husband doesn't celebrate, but will you do anything special for the holiday? hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThank you I have some very very old Green Bay Packers sweatshirts still back in the fall of 1967 I started college up in north in Wisconsin at Stout State U that's how I found out about pro football.
DeleteNo, when we were younger I used to make huge christmas dinners for our friends that had no families either, sometimes a few soldiers would show up as well. I make us a few christmas goodies and make us a nice dinner with homemade tamales christmas eve. other than that, especially now after Larry's bad fall we are pretty much stuck at home these days. I don't mind though after years of working soooo many long hours I like just staying home these days hugs
