T Stands for Tuesday & Howling Winds

Happy T Day everyone
Tuesdays is when we gather together over at our hostess Bleubeard and Elizabeth and share a drink related post. You are most welcome to join us, find link in my right hand column.

Where I live we missed for the most part the ice and snow, but wow have the winds ever been howling for several days now. Today we had 40-50 mile an hour winds that continues through tonight and tomorrow. So the feels like temperatures are in the low teens. I will a cold week ahead.
Hoping those of you living more south of me or the east coast (USA) didn't end up with loads of ice and snow and or loss of electricity. Been thinking of all of you.

In my Friday post I shared that I had completed stitching together part 1 of my fiber art journal. I am really happy with it, and have started working on the cover for part 2-the last 6 months of 2018

I wanted to share a video of my book, and have made about 6 of them lol either my voice could not be heard or the images were a bit blurry. I am sharing this one-it took forever to download on my slow internet.
Those of you that weren't following me during the beginning of this adventure-find the inspiration tutorial for joining the pages into a book in my right hand column

For my beverage reference I am showing a previous photo-of my drink this past week-vanilla chicory with cream

When we get really cold winter temperatures I throw out black oiled sunflower seed in the back yard along with the cracked corn. This saves having to keep the squirrels out of the feeders, and more birds at one time can enjoy the food.
If you enlarge the photo and look close you will see lots of little birds and a few cardinals, perhaps a dove

I wanted to share a link to nut milks that I just learned about. I quit buying them in the stores because there is too many other ingredients that I don't want-or they have added salt or sugars which I don't want either. I buy allot from Nuts.com They have gourmet dried fruits and nuts and lots of other good things-they just sent me an email of their new nut milks that are only nuts and water if you choose the unsweetened ones.

Were you able to see the super blood wolf moon? We were so cloudy here I could not view it, but I did find many different live videos of it online-awesome.

Happy T

  1. I enjoyed your video of your book. Love all the embellishments you added. We got through the storm just fine. I don't think it was as big as the weather dudes were hoping for. But now it's bitterly cold. Wow, you're winds are fierce. Best to stay in and enjoy your warm vanilla chicory. The cold doesn't seem to be bothering your birds. I had a few snowbirds at the feeder yesterday. Haven't seen the cardinal pairs since the beginning of Winter. Happy T Day. Stay warm!

  2. Your book is fantastic, thanks for sharing the video, too. Lovely to see the cardinals, we don't have them over here. It's very cold and frosty here, too with a bitter north east wind. Stay cozy, happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

  4. Your fiber art journal looks fantastic. The howling winds and bitter cold seem to be the unpleasant aftermath of that large storm that went through. I was lucky and didn't lose electricity like others in Connecticut did. I like your Cardinals photo. The skies cleared so I was able to see the Super Blood Wolf Moon. I posted some photos on my blog, but they didn't come out too good. But it was fantastic to be able to see it. Happy T-Day.

  5. Not much snow here, but ice is plentiful. We had single digit temps over the weekend and our heat went outa couple times. Lots of blankets and two cuddly kitties got us through Sunday night, and it was fixed early yesterday morning. I love your journal, Kathy. It’s an heirloom for sure. It even got me looking at beads in Michaels yesterday. I sighed and moved on as that kind of fine tedious work is in my past with current hand arthritis. I did go outside and look at the blood moon around midnight during Sunday night. It was an event, but honestly, what really took my breath away was the “super moon” rising from the horizon around 6 pm yesterday. It was amazing!

We missed the super blood wolf moon because of clouds too.

  13. Thanks for sharing that video. I do like the cloth pages and am especially impressed by the beads. Our winds aren't that strong, but we've had some. I love watching the birds, and we get the cardinals and mourning doves, too. Mostly sparrows, though, and purple finches, but we like watching them, too :) Happy T Tuesday!

  17. What a wonderful post. I enjoyed seeing all those birds feeding on the ground!
I love your Yellowstone mug, and also the place mat underneath it. I bet you made that yourself.
Well done for doing a video. Yes, I could hear your voice clearly. The journal is so beautiful. The stitching around the edges is well worth the effort. It really finishes it off. I love the beads and thingies. Very pretty.

  18. Happy T day Kathy. I am a little late-it's been a busy day. You book edging is gorgeous. Too bad you missed the eclipse. I saw some of it and it was pretty impressive. But one thing about anything in the sky it all depends on the clouds, doesn't it? Hugs-Erika

  19. My sincere apologies for not visiting sooner, but my electricity went out about 4ish this morning. It is finally back on and I keep getting interrupted while trying to play catch-up.

I enjoyed the short video. I still love that cat (grin) that follows you around the garden.

Lovely photo of the birds. I miss cardinals SO much. The blood wolf moon may have been out, but between fog and the overcast sky, I never saw it. i heard it was great, and Anne had great shots on her blog, too.

Thanks for sharing your completed book, your photo of the birds, and your drink in the Yellowstone mug with us for T this Tuesday. Sorry again for being so late visiting.

  21. Love your fabric journal!!!! Bob and I are going to work on some for the twins while he is recovering from his thyroid surgery. He's a bit leery but he'll do ok, he'll be cutting mostly :)
Most of our snow is gone now thanks to yesterdays rain. Place where it was packed down in the driveway are still slick but I try to avoid them. The winds have been terrible here too.
    Happy Day after T Day!
    Carol
