Good morning Sunday, we did get a much needed cool down today, not all the rain and storms that were predicted, and still very humid.
I grabbed the camera. Perhaps someone knows what some of my perennials are. I have several tall and wide plants that have not bloomed yet. These I grew two years ago from seeds. The milkweed is blooming again, snapdragons still blooming, I think the bee balm is blooming and I have two big tubs of seeds that I planted that I think are lavender-but the leaves don't look like the lavender I have and it does not smell like lavender. Sooo if you recognize my plants please let me know.
Below is milkweed
These have not bloomed yet In the back is a huge copper pot-planted the petunias from seeds-happy with those
I think in front is bee balm? don't know what the back is-all grown from seed two years ago
Beautiful photos, Kathy. I don't know if that is lavender but it is pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks I know the leaves don't look like lavender at all wondering if it is salvia
DeleteLovely! -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWell it doesn’t look like my lavender but there are about 10 different varieties. Possibly one of them? But I would think it would have a lavender fragrance…
ReplyDeleteI know this is a puzzlement as I lost the name tag for it. the flower looks like lavender but the leaves are way off in their shape too and it does nor have a fragrance I am thinking it could be salvia the leaves are similar and I did plant seeds from the those too-but the flower is small a puzzlement haha
DeleteI think you might be spot on Kathy with the Salvia or maybe Sage... I'm looking at the spacing between the flowers instead of just a stem full of flowers it looks like it has regular spacing.. I've seen Sage like that i think.. If Sage the leaves would have a strong smell when crushed..
ReplyDeleteI wish i knew what those big bushy green ones were.. do they have buds? If so maybe we'll soon know better.. We've been cooler but oh so humid... The rain over the weekend stayed South of us as it is suppose to today too.. Hubby's poor golf course is getting drown .Off to Big Springs today for eye appt/check on cataracts... get new glasses.. Be interesting to see if the caster oil may have helped his eyes... I wish we would have used it the whole year... now that would have been a good test.. But we used it for about 4-5 months.. Hugs! deb
good morning, it's not sage for sure I am thinking salvia-we have had sooo much rain this summer that I think the flowers are coming as they should. I tossed lots of zinnias marigolds etc and they are growing very poorly so far.
Deletegood luck with your eye exams had not heard about the castor oil for cataracts--we both had our eyes done about 6 years ago
Pretty flowers. I do think that is salvia. Janice
ReplyDeletethanks0I think so too
DeleteThey're all lovely but that milkweed -- WOW!
ReplyDeleteThank you I think the milkweed all benefited from all the rain. I am really happy with these too-grew from seeds
DeleteThe gardens have certainly benefited from all the rain we have been getting. Your perennials are looking wonderful. The grasses here are out of control, and I have having a hard time of keeping yards mowed.
ReplyDeleteGood evening, yes this has been a rough summer here too-keeping up with things
