Good morning Thursday Wow this week is flying by too fast. Very hot and humid, major issues with the service we got from when we installed our furnace in January-won't even go into it-but now the issue is-our a/c unit is not compatible with the new furnace-they should have known this back in January but they sent out two apprentices with no lead tech. So unhappy with this company. The motor will probably burn out again but I am keeping the thermostat in the low 80's instead of 79 so it doesn't come on as much. Hopefully we make it through the rest of summer and decide what to do going forward. The tech that came out to change the motor told us this and said next time the motor will not be covered in the warranty-it's their bad service in the beginning that caused this-oh well what can one do to protect themselves any more. sad
Hubs has been ill but getting better finally. Me I am still having issues with foods but I think I am done losing weight now as I am finally consistent at 114 to 115 for a week now-finally. That's a 20 pound loss since last winter. This is actually my normal weight before I turned towards the 50's in age. Larry finally noticed-hey you are too skinny haha. I like this weight though or perhaps into the low 20's
I wrote down the list of supplies from the book I shared on making watercolor paints-
There was actually quite a long list of supplies. I need to check my natural dye supply box as I think some of the items I need am hoping to have already.
I did buy the tempered glass board and glass muller on amazon for mixing the paint. I also needed a new set of watercolor brushes-mine were super inexpensive at the time so my favorite ones are in bad shape already. These two glass pieces were rather expensive but I went ahead and got them. This tempered glass board was the right size with high reviews. I will need to find someone to gift my art and craft supplies to in the future (smiles)
I also picked up those little pans to hold the paints and I do have lots of little jars already.
I could probably buy professional grade watercolor paints for the same amount of money in the end-but what fun is that haha.
The author of this book lives in Canada and she is on different internet platforms with her videos-You Tube Instagram, Facebook etc. One needs her book though for the basic recipe and how to make the paints-she does not share any of that in her videos.
She posted recently about making paint from watermelon. video here on facebook I am hoping this link works-may have to be on facebook not sure. This video is also on Instagram too. She is under her name (name on book)
Today I get my first box of USA beef from Good Chop Larry is not eating any meat right now so kinda bad timing-am anxious to try it though.
That's it for me
Enjoy your day and stay cool and hydrated
So sorry about your air conditioner being wrong. How can he say it is not covered when his company installed it in the first place? crazy!
ReplyDeleteI have not been painting but good for you to try to make natural paints I just don't have the interest in them. I have tried natural dying with wool the results are all over the place and it fades to easily.
I hope he is getting protein other ways instead of meat.
I hope you stay cool we are overcast and rainy but humid so as I call it swampy.
Cathy
Yes I am warming up organic no salt beef stock or chicken stock--they installed the furnace in january we already had the a/c unit-only about 5 years old now-but they did not check to see if the a/c unit was capatible with their furnace-no lead man on the job we are finding out--so it's their mistake for sure.
DeleteI have done a lot of hand dyeing-your right the natural dyed wool tends to not hold it's colors as well My Mom always use those little dye packets from the east coast on wool for her rug hooking-can't remember the name now those hold up very well
Hot, hot and hotter indeed! Stay hydrated and safe, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks-you as well hugs
DeleteGlad Larry is improving. You are having fun with watercolour supplies!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Yes I do enjoy supplies-part of the fun of it I think
DeleteGood to see a post from you! I've been mowing this morning... thinking of going out one more time... Had a Grandlittle yesterday and overnight so didn't mow.. little behind now.. grass growing like gangbusters after all that rain.. nice to see things green though if i don't think about the mowing....lol So excited to see your water color thing!!! So looking forward to it.. I bought some very VERY glittery watercolor a while ago and just recently played with it.. Not as glittery as i thought it was going to be.. oh well still pretty colors..
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean... all my art/craft supplies may go in the trash... as no one i know would want them... But they bring me such JOY that i don't even care.. I think as long as i'm breathing i will be surrounded by them.. I'm glad you bought nice stuff and the stuff you need... Looking forward to seeing you experiment..
I'm sorry to hear about your A/C... I would be dying at 80F . We have ours between 74-75... We had some showers hanging around yesterday and we got a few sprinkles... I think today and tomorrow are dry... We could use a little drying out... But you have to be careful what you wish for as it may not rain until November!!! Hugs! deb
I got through the worst of the tall grass yesterday-now to finish off-which will take a few days and then time to start over haha. The humidity and heat has been too much for me so try to go out every other day this week.
Deleteyour glitter watercolor paint sounds fun anxious to see it.
i used to keep the a/c around 78 but the electric is just too expensive too-and I don't want to be cold in the house-the 81 or 82 setting is working out pretty good. Larry has no circulation do to his congestive heart so he needs it warmer too.
I love supplies too-and makes a big difference when learning too. I need to find someone to gift my craft room too I have tons of supplies take care
wow not sure what happened with the big space haha
DeleteAir conditioners and furnaces seem to innately know when the worst time to go out is. You may want to contact the Better Business Bureau if the company continues to give you a hard time.
ReplyDeleteThat has to be so frustrating about your furnace and AC. Especially when it's hot and you need the AC. Setting it at 80 doesn't make it very cool in the house I would imagine. And congrats on the weight loss. That's always a big accomplishment. Hope Larry continues to improve. Stay cool. hugs-Erika
