Petunias

I am just so happy with my petunias-they are looking nice and full now. Soooooo hot and humid here-I will need to start watering more often now too.

This is the first time I grew my own petunias from seeds-will do it again going forward.

These petunias are in a huge copper pot that Larry rescued from the trash many years ago-sad they drilled holes in the bottom  If the holes had not already been drilled I never would have used in the garden as a planter.  Drilled holes really devalued this vintage piece.

The sun was very bright just now when I took the photos

The house showing up in the back-is actually not that close to us-this property sat on two lots and our home is in the middle  Closer than I would like since we were living on many acres of land in the woods-but not right on top of us either like most of the homes here on the lake

Stay safe in the extreme heat

  1. Beautiful petunias, Kathy! It’s me, Barbara. So long since we were in touch and I miss crafting along with you. We have moved, can’t find anything and I don’t have your email. Can you ship an email my way with your email address? Barbjmoore18@gmailcom

  5. You did a great job on growing your petunias from seed. Love the color. The only flower I did from seed was a sky blue morning glory. It use to re-seed itself until Bob changed up the garden it was in. I need to plant more of it next year. Janice

    1. I used to buy these gorgeous larger velvety type petunias much more expensive and I always lost them by end of July when it is so hot like it is now. Last time I lost them said no more-as they were quite expensive. the seeds for those are even very expensive-so I just bought regular petunia seeds started them in my bottle greenhouses and they are doing so good. I have another big pot of them on the other side of the steps

  9. My grandmother started all her plants from seed, including those tiny, tiny petunia seeds. They were her pride and joy, just as yours are for you. So pretty!!! We have been fortunate not to have to do much watering this year, but with the hot and dry weather pattern we are in, it looks like that is about over.

    1. good afternoon Mary, we got a good soaking a couple days ago but we are in for two weeks of very very hot and humid-so I will be watering more
the petunias were so rewarding-never thought of them being so easy. all my plants in the garden now I grew from seeds except for the lavender plant and the begonia plant

  10. I have a few petunia's but not from seed. They are not my favorite because of the dead heading.
It has cooled off here thankfully but the heat is coming back.
