Surprise Bloom

 Good morning Monday

This is the first year that my amaryllis bulbs did not bloom in the house late winter or early spring.

So after the last freeze when I put the two big clay pots outdoors I began watering them. One of the pots are young plants. Well just before all the rain -one of those young bulbs produced a lovely huge bloom-but on a very very short  stem near the bulb.

Have you ever seen this before??

Happy Monday and last day of June 2025---How did that happen??? Smiles

  5. I have never had good luck with indoor plants and when I got cats did not want them eating them anyway and getting sick. That is a beautiful flower and I have never seen one bloom that low. Janice

    1. I don't have indoor plants either-I bring these in before the fall freeze-and then don't water them-let them go dormant-and then usually they will start to produce leaves around feb or march and then I water them-they have their flowers-and I take them outside for rain water and sun til before the first fall freeze-and start the cycle again. this was unusual for me-this huge bloom close to the bulb
