Anything Goes Theme for Art Journal Journey

Happy Thursday everyone, it is a cold rainy day today. We did get out of the house this morning for our 6 month blood work, and then we stopped by our friends that visit us often here at the lake.

I have been concentrating on my fibers-spinning every day for a few weeks now-I am seeing some improvements being made-finally.

I have been wanting to make a page for Valerie's theme this month and since Spring is arriving this month, I decided to do a Spring page for her Anything Goes theme.

I grabbed a watercolor sheet from my watercolor spiral book, my own  made botanical inks, and looked in my stamp drawers and chose three.

I inked the stamps with a black ink pad, once dry I grabbed the box of my botanical inks and my glass dip pen.

I am pleased with the results The botanical inks I used were matcha, blackberry, blackberry with vinegar, blackberry with baking soda, hibiscus, hibiscus with turmeric and soda ash, avocado, orange mandarin, black walnut. For the stone pavers I used black calligraphy ink from Japan All with the glass dip pen-more precise for me than a paint brush

Note: photos will enlarge just click on them

Once dry I glued down inside my German cookbook-now art journal book

I love the colors of these botanical inks

Thank you so much for visiting

  10. This page came out amazing Kathy. I'm with you about the colors of those botanical inks. You did such a nice job of coloring with your glass pen also. I can't wait for spring weather here; at least with a warmer week the snow is melting. Thanks so much for sharing this page with us at AJJ. Have a great weekend. hugs-Erika

  14. I really like this journal page a LOT. I love the stamped image you created and how you colored the flowers in with your dip pen rather than a paintbrush. This is really SO well done with your hand made inks. I would love to sit at that table in the Parisian cafe for a drink in spring. I am truly ready for spring to arrive here and your lovely page has made it possible today. This spring page is ideal for Valerie's theme at Art Journal Journey. Thanks for sharing it.

I'm getting Failed to Publish. wish blogger didn't hate me so much.
