You are most welcome to join us at T with our hostess Bleubeard and Elizabeth with a drink related post.
Brrrr we woke up this morning to high winds and sleet. No one fishing on the lake today that we have seen, only saw a few birds as well.
The wind has not let up all day, and we are in for some very frigid cold air tonight and will last for several days. so winter has arrived early here. Knowing Missouri hopefully it will warm back up in a few days.
I took two videos-early this morning
and a few hours later you can see the air is now colder than the lake, and a little snow-ice underneath
I wasn't feeling really good today, I have ended up with a sore throat since the weekend, and a tight chest-so feels like the allergies have hit---soooo a perfect day to write out Christmas cards. With so much going on I am not making them this year. I found the company I used to buy all my cards and stickers from Current Inc-online so I was pleased to see they are still in business and their cards are still printed in the USA.
I love mail, so if any of you would like to swap Christmas cards send me an email if you don't already have my address, I would love to swap with you.
My oatmeal cookies turned out so well, that I searched online for a flourless chocolate chip cookie-there were several different ones-I chose one that used the almond butter or could use peanut butter-and almond flour. I made them half the size to get more cookies was pleased with the results.
We had a squatter on the dock
I have been drinking lots of teas and coffee again this past week, I didn't take a new photo-but I have made several more pots of coffee these past few days, using this same cup-I love drinking out of this cup again
Happy T Stands for Tuesday everyone
Update: another gorgeous full moon tonight-I opened the door just enough to try and grab a photo or two.
There was also a gorgeous reflection on the lake from the moon that I couldn't capture with my old digital camera.
Amazing change of scenery because of changes in the weather. It will never be boring there!
ReplyDeleteThe temperature here dropped 50 degrees F from yesterday, Kathy. We got the high winds, too, some over 40 mph. I feel for you, too because I checked the weather online earlier, and saw how you were getting either ran or snow depending on where you live.
ReplyDeleteI purchased from Currents for years. I used to buy my checks through them, too. It's good to know they are still in business. I don't send cards as a rule, but I may make a few this year.
Your oatmeal cookies look good and now I'm craving cookies. The would certainly go well with that beautiful cup of coffee, too.
Thanks for sharing your videos (they made me feel even colder than I am), your cookies and your coffee with us for T this not quite Tuesday.
Oh it does look cold there!! We had 64 degrees today:):) BUT... turning cold and getting your weather tomorrow into Wednesday-ugh! Perfect for the pots of warm tea and your delicious looking cookies. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteWinter hs snuck in on us, hasn't it? You are far from me but seems we are having the same weather. And we're supposed to get back into the cold again. I like your visiter. It must be hard on them when it gets cold, but hopefully you'll warm back up. Have a super T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteBRRRRR, the lake looks cold and choppy. Perfect day for a hot beverage and your delicious cookies. The cold is coming my way on Wed. I had a bit of a sore throat yesterday and today. I'm drinking some Traditional Medicinal Throat Coat which is a tea made from slippery elm bark. I sweetened it with honey. Quite good and my sore throat is gone. I just bought some address labels from Current. I'd love to swap a card with you. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteIt does look cold, we have had very foggy weather for a week and some days it didn’t clear at all, today we woke to bright sunshine and it was back to T shirt weather .
ReplyDeleteHope you’re soon feeling better, a sore throat isn’t good at all,
Take care, happy T Day, jan x
It's definitely one of those "not fit for man or beast" days. Those kind of days make staying inside so enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteOh noooo, winter already?!
ReplyDeleteBut I have to say... with such a lake even this is beautiful! Is that a bird-house, looks like a human head!
Really, very, very beautiful, your place!
Hope you´re feeling better soon, I do, finally.
Swapping cards is always fun! I´d also like to learn more about your cards being printed in the US, that sounds like quite an achievement!
Yes. My tea-consume has risen dramatically, too!
A wonderful moon, a happy T-Day and hugs to you!
It does look cold on the lake, brrrr! Love the squatter on the deck. Look after yourself, hope you feel better soon. Love your beautiful autumnal cup, so pretty. Enjoy your coffee with those lovely cookies. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThe cold air seems to be affecting a lot of us here in the US. Here in southern Connecticut we're dodging some light snow, but northern CT will get a dusting. Update NY, 3" to 5". I love the mist hovering over the lake (even though it was due to the cold). I'm sorry to hear you're feeling sick. I think I'm 99% over the cold I had. Your cookies look delicious. I like the squatter you had. Hopefully he/she remains through the Winter, so you can get more photos. (Most of the Egrets and Herons here go south, but a few stay.) I always love to see moon photos, especially when it's full! Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteThe cold front got here overnight, bringing a torrent of rain and wind. It is going to be really cold tonight, down into the teens!! No snow yet, thank heavens, we have some things that have to be done today.
ReplyDeleteWow, I was surprised to see all that snow on your video - brrr! Thanks for sharing it was spectacular to watch 😁. Those cookies look yummy and the full moon looks beautiful too! I hope you are feeling better soon and wishing you a very happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteWe didn't get any sleet but got a bit of fine snow that was all but invisible. I enjoyed your videos. It really shows how cold it was there. Our low last night was in the teens!
ReplyDeleteYour cup is one that I would quickly pick up if I were to see one. Perfect for Autumn! Your moon over that lake must be a beautiful sight :)
I don't make cards but would enjoy a card exchange with you :) I'll send you my real-life name and snail-mail addy.
I hope you've been able to secure your dock before the real winter weather hits. I hope you're all set to hunker down inside for a few days until the storm ends. For me, the worst part of northern winters was that we had to get in our cars and drive to work. So treacherous. I had one minor accident and several close calls - one with a semi sliding back down a steep hill of black ice right toward me. My guardian angel must have been with me that day.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to swap Christmas cards again. My address is the sane, but yours is different, right?
You cookies look yummy.
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
Lovely pictures over the lake Kathy, I smiled when I read about your squatter, I hope he didn't leave any mess.
ReplyDeleteYour cookies look really delicious.
Happy T day wishes and I hope you will be feeling better soon.
Yvonne xx
Oh gosh that looks really cold. Just looking at your video made me shiver! I hope your sore throat doesn't develop into a cold or worse. Stay warm with lots of vit C.
ReplyDeleteYour cookies look (and sound) yummy. I'm not a celiac but living in almond country, I sometimes use almond flour or almond paste.
Is that a heron sheltering in your boat house? I don't blame him (or her).
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Well, you made me feel a little warmer knowing that our cold weather is not so bad after all! Cookies and coffee is just the thing too! I love your cup! I like a seasonal change of cups! Belated Happy T Day!Chrisx
