Hi to all of my paper crafters/artists--I am playing around in my craft room tonight-yeah my overhead light is finally coming on now since it's cooler. 😃
I stamped onto tracing paper and I want to attach it to construction paper-I am experimenting for my Christmas Cards.
What type of glue would you suggest that will stick to the paper but not show through to the tracing paper-any ideas will help thanks.
I had thought of hand stitching paper down too
thanks in advance.
Update: blog friend Eileen at Artful Blogger did some glue experiments-thanks soooo much here is the link
I would use a glue stick. One that might go on colored but dry clear
ReplyDeletethanks CJ
ReplyDeleteHi kathy,
ReplyDeleteI want to say matte Medium because its my favorite glue..lol by Liquitex BUT i think for what you want to use it for a less liquidy form would be better like CJ's glue stick. Eileen is my crafting Guru .. You might ask her directly.. Hugs! deb
Thanks Deb, I am going to look into that product to have on hand
ReplyDeleteI use small, transparent glue-dots. Have a nice weekend, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThank you much Valerie, not familiar with these but sounds less messy too
ReplyDeleteYou got perfect tips already!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your x-mas cards Kathy!
I would use matte medium also, but I would be sure to spread it across the entire surface so when it dries you don't get spots. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThank you Erika I have never worked with it before but am going to give it a try
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI did some tests today. See https://theartfulcrafter.com/blog/glue-stamped-tracing-paper-christmas-card.html. I hope this helps.
I didn't try CJ's idea. Usually my glue sticks are too thick and gummy to work on tracing paper. But a really new fresh one might be okay.
Thank you for the link to my article, Kathy.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Eileen
I like the sticky tape you get on a dispenser, it rolls out like tape and the paper backing is rolled up inside the dispenser. Email me and I'll send you a link to what I am talking about. It comes in permanent tape and dots, as well as repositionable.
