Good morning Saturday,
The warm up begins, we were just below freezing yesterday with sunshine-so I made it up to my mailbox-Wow a lot of mail. The mail person placed a lot of it in a large bag and tied it to my garbage container handle. Good thing the garbage pick up did not come this week-smiles. I do not blame anyone for not walking mail down-most of the steps were totally wind blown over with snow.
I will wait til tomorrow when it will be even warmer to tackle the shoveling. I got ill from this cold, and perhaps from the last big shoveling job. Asthma really bad, chest so tight I could not breath well. I looked on line and found a breathing technique that has worked for me, plus using the heating pad over my chest. I have not been this bad since the late '80's
We have Directv streaming and my set up for my tv finally quit. It has been acting up for awhile now-I could not change the volume and no channel numbers. I got the replacement in the mail yesterday. We had to replace Larry's setup a couple months ago. Mine must be the newest version as it loaded more stuff, and a clearer picture as well. I love the streaming for all the apps that are available We only look for the free apps-Tubi, You Tube, and others-it amazes me how much is available now days. Our tv's are going on 20 years or more old now too. I think the newer ones may be set up for streaming tv-it is really a huge upgrade in my opinion. One can get a basic streaming package and then shop for free movie apps etc. I asked the Directv customer service how long their streaming devices should work and he said around 3 year Ours made it to around two years. These have a small rental fee so easy to upgrade.
Now for the photos-the other day the sky was magical so I grabbed my camera. It was still negative temperatures so I took these from indoors out one of the large windows. You can still see the ice on the lake too. We got more ice coverage a couple days ago, but that will melting away next week for sure. On day will be in the 60's Looking forward to that for sure.
Happy weekend-hoping you are all getting a warm up soon as well

DeleteBeautiful sunrise pictures. Do you have medicine for your breathing? I do hope you are feeling better. If you get a rouku stick there is no monthly fee and you get access to rouku tv that is free also.
ReplyDeleteCathy

Deletewe don't have rouku, I do have directv streaming but a low price monthly fee-we watch a lot free with different apps I love tubi and you tube for all sorts of different things
Fabulous photographs, the colours are beautiful.

thank you Jan
DeleteThat is one beautiful sky! Our one tv has been acting up lately, but I forgot how old it is. We do have the apps on it, but we dont use them. Guess I should learn how to. Janice
ReplyDeleteIt was amazing had to take some photos. I am not a big movie watcher but I find all sorts of series and things to watch on tubi, also amazing what all you tube has I watched and listened to a couple hours of blues music a couple days ago
DeleteTHANK YOU SO MUCH for the lovely photos you share with us, Kathy. They are really awesome!!!!!!!!! Big hugs, my friend.
ReplyDeletethanks so much Mia
DeleteVery nice looking sky shots, Kathy, and glad that it warmed up enough so you could get your mail. We will be in the 40s for a couple of days which means the ice will be melting with large puddles everywhere. We have one streaming service, Netflix, and do not have any cable or satellite connection, but a digital antenna brings in the news channels and PBS. We also use the free streaming sites you mentioned in this post, Tubi and YouTube,
ReplyDeleteI really like Tubi for all sorts of things I am watching a crime-mystery series from England that is really good that is going off soon so I need to catch some more episodes lots on you tube too
Deletewe were in the 40's today and tomorrow too-closer to 50's
Beautiful sky photos Kathy. It's interesting how much has changed with TVs. From only black and white with service shutting off over night, to color, to VHS and DVDs and now streaming. I wonder what will be next? hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about TV's Erika/ I don't remember now how old I was but I remember my grandparents on my father's side were all excited about their new color tv. However when ever we went for a visit my Grandpa messed with the color knobs and Dad had to fix it--one had to use dials to adjust the colors.
DeleteI wonder what's next too Happy new week
Beautiful pictures to be sure Kathy! We will be 73F today! The Littles are coming over this morning to see Grandpa before he leaves for a day of golf... then spend some time with me.. Streaming... TV.... We have Prime and YouTube... i spend more time on YouTube honestly... I really don't find much to watch.. Thank goodness for our treasure trove of dvd's ... hundreds that we've collected over the years.. I'm so glad you two got new set ups and you are so happy with it!!! I hope you warm up soon Kathy ... tomorrow we will be in the 80F's... !! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of choices on You Tube I am not big on movies I don't like sci fi, violence etc I do like the streaming-more choices and so many apps are free too Enjoy the grands hugs
DeleteWhat glorious skies! I'm so glad things are melting. I don't have cable or sat tv -- just streaming via my roku stick. For $30, I get tons of free stuff (or if I want paid services, can view through there too), along with the locals. Best thing I ever did media wise.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much free apps for the tv that are available the sky was awesome-
DeleteI recently canceled our YouTube TV subscription, $89 is too much for what we get out of it. We now have Prime, Netflix, Tubi and YouTube. We seem to get everything we need out of those services.
ReplyDeletegood morning we ending up with an average service from directv so I can watch sports and some channels I like-then added the free tubi and you tube and other free apps--so much available now for free
Deletehappy new week
Cable is such a rip. I have firestick and get all the free stuff I can watch. I gave up Netflix. They raised the prices too much. We also have rabbit ears for local channels. I love the photos.
ReplyDeleteseems like many of you use the firestick. I never bought into Netflix and I am reading many are cancelling it. the sky was pretty awesome we had a big melting of the ice today-a lot of is gone now on the lake
DeleteYou sure were lucky with mail... and garbage for that matter!
ReplyDeleteOh, not being able to breath properly must be very scary. Glad you found something online.
I admit, no idea about the streaming thing! We still have satellite and don´t pay at all. Some stuff is online, other I have the good ole DVDs. If you stream you get it all translated to German.
Ohhhhh, wonderful lake photos! Hope it warmed up by now (ack I was so tired this weekend and also yesterday test from 07:30 - 03:30... I´m not 20 anymore. Today a new session begins) - hugs to you and the lake!
If you have free tv service-that is the way to go for sure. yes we are warming up a bit more each day this week. the snow and ice are now mostly all melted try not to work too hard-hugs
DeleteThose sky pictures are stunning. I actually did a little gasp when they came up. Beautiful lake, too. Take care.
ReplyDeletethank you-this was view was really amazing
DeleteHappy Week!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. Your view is spectacular. TV issues are in the air.
A streaming device is something to consider.
I lost local channels on my indoor antenna yesterday when it was very windy. I don't think it is the wind as the remote is not working as it usually does. Logging on the laptop, the Wifi connection had weirdness as well.
I really like this streaming service so many more free options that can be added to a basic service. we had directv years ago when they first came in as a choice. when we moved to the lake they had streaming with co mo electric service--they were getting it from directv-they cancelled that so we went back to directv and their streaming service. you made need o check out your service. learning this streaming is fairly new and we acts up they just send replacements
DeleteKathy your photos are breathtaking...the sky is just gorgeous. So glad to read that you are getting warmer temps. We are too and am beginning to hear the spring birds. So glad you got your tv situation worked out. We have dish but also watch you tube. There are some really good movies that are older on it as well as great how to do videos. Well friend enjoy your warmer weather and take care. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGood morning that was a spectacular sky to view early morning. I really like You tube too I have a lot of free subscriptions I watch on there. loving this warmer week for sure-hugs
DeleteWhat beautiful views! The colors are so amazing. It has still been freezing where I am too. I am going to start some spring cleaning this weekend and get some carpet cleaning done in hopes it will bring in the warmer weather haha. Hope you are keeping warm!
ReplyDeletethank you
DeleteI hope you're feeling much better now. Please be careful shoveling. The pictures are very lovely!
