Happy First Day of Summer Solstice

Happy first day of summer here in the USA

Of course since we seem to be continuing the rainy cycle we have been in here in the Ozarks-lots of rain and storms this morning but then heats up with humidity and mid 90's F
A little different than Yellowstone Park area-they are getting a foot of snow-wow

Enjoy your Friday

  1. Spring was cool and wet. Summer seems to be starting the same way. At least it's not snow! Happy Solstice!

  3. I love the passage on summer! A good one for my journal. We have actually dried out here to the point of having to water the gardens and beds. Snow in Yellowstone Park... Wow!

  4. Same rainy stormy cycle here also. It doesn’t seem to take a break. Yellowstone is having snow? Amazing. Is summer solstice the day that marks the daylight hours starting to get shorter?

  6. Today it was 97 with a heat index of 108F in Wichita. I'm ready to go back to spring or even winter, please!

  7. Lovely sentiment for the Summer Solstice. (I'm a day late visiting your blog.) It was rainy here in CT most of the week. Today is beautiful with no humidity and temperatures getting up to the low 80s. I shudder with dread whenever I hear there is a snow forecast for anywhere in the continental US at this time of year. I know it's normal for the higher elevations, but it makes me cringe. (I think Mount Washington in NH can still get snow at this time of year, maybe. Ugh.) We allegedly have a few "mountains" in CT, but those in the US with what I call "real" mountains would probably consider ours mole hills (borrowing a phrase from Elizabeth and those dirt piles in her street).

  8. We've had clouds and rain here, too. Not the sunny summer solstice I wanted. But we have heat, which I like, so I'm happy :) Happy Solstice!
