I thought I would join Elizabeth and share some recycle projects in honor of Earth Day this month.
I don't have any of my own photos of projects to share at the moment-although my craft room is mostly filled with recycled wool, linen, cotton, silks from clothing-that I use in my quilting, weaving, and other projects. I also mostly buy craft items that I need from resale shops, garage sales etc before buying new. Although I do also purchase new craft tools and materials from time to time.
This link shows 15 diy recycle projects: here are a few of them
Ottoman made from a tire
Wine cork garden markers-easy and fun
diy watering can-love this one and sooo easy too
If you have bottle caps to recycle this site has 55 projects
This link has lots of fun storage ideas for your home with recycled glass jars
I hope to post more diy recycle ideas this month--Do you love to recycle too?
Yes, Kate. I love recycle. I especially enjoy recycling boxes, jars, bottles and bottle cups (and many more). These ideas are awesome, thank you for sharing. Hugs, my dear friend.
ReplyDeleteSome great ideas there Kathy, thanks for sharing. Look after yourself, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat great ideas! I need to do the cork garden markers. How easy too. happy mid-week Kathy. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYes! Anything re-used is more kept from the landfills!
ReplyDeleteI have washed and saved a lot of glass jars in my time. Use them for storing buttons, sewing supplies, little art tidbits! My daughter used them as candle holders at her wedding, with various rustic decorations! happy belated T day!
ReplyDeleteSuper recycling ideas, I liked the home made watering can.

I'm so glad you have taken up the cause too, Kathy. I also save jars and bottles until they were running out of my face. I finally gave a bunch of pretty jars and bottles away last year, but saved the functional ones and truly lovely ones I had grown attached to.
ReplyDeleteI made a cork garden marker one year. I've also used paint sticks, stirrer sticks from Starbucks, knitting needles, and forks that held formica chips. Thanks for these. Some are inspiring, to say the least.
I save everything! Really need to start filling jars with homemade goodies. And upcycling everything else to use or give away.
ReplyDeleteSome good ideas, I especially like the wine cork garden signs/markers :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
