Good morning Monday,
We are in a cool down-feels sooo wonderful. Larry has just two physical therapy sessions left-so I swept the outdoors steps off from leaves and twigs, and wow the cool air felt sooo good. It was too hot and humid here all summer so he didn't get outdoors much for his therapy. We will need to wait several months again before he can ask for more. Should have thought to cancel the summer sessions for fall weather instead.
Larry had found the perfect lift on ebay-good price, newer, looks nicer etc. but our guys weren't able to go and get it for us-bummer. It is about a 5 hour drive both ways.(Larry pays them but they were tied up with other jobs) I wish we could have gotten this one-and then put the one that is not working in the back of the house. oh well such is life.
I need a big grocery shopping trip so hope to do that tomorrow morning early. We have days in the 70's F this week too so am hoping to get the area ready to transplant the ornamental grasses down by the lake. This looks like a good week to do that-and then hopefully some rain. We have not gotten any rain for the month of August.
No photos to share-all my perennials are all dried up so no flowers to share, the grass has gone brown-fine with me haha hopefully no more cutting grass this year. After Labor Day weekend the lake will be back to peace and quiet-more waterfowl will return and usually no more noisy boats. I am hoping we will see the eagle pair again. I think they got spooked when the new owners of that property trimmed all the brush out and cut out dead limbs etc. Hoping they didn't move to another spot.
I did get more spinning done while having the Shootout on the tv-live here at the lake. They moved it down further from us and in a much better location. So we didn't have as much speed boat traffic on the lake where we are-a good thing as they get the docks bouncing too much. They are very loud as well. The weather dropped from the high 90's to the mid 80's so good weather and safer too for the spectators.
The children here are already back to school-when I was a kid we did not go back to school til after Labor Day
Happy new week!
Our children have been back at school for a week already. There was a lot of rain during the summer holidays, and only when school started again did the weather become nice enough for swimming. That was a shame for the children.
ReplyDeleteI really hope things get sorted out with the lift, which is very important. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Have a nice week dear Kathy.
Hugs from Viola.
Good morning Viola, the children here have been back to school for at least a week too already. this was an extremely hot and humid summer for us-and for others too across the usa now I see reports about an extreme winter-not good but that's mother nature.
DeleteI am hoping we get the lift fixed too-Happy new week hugs back
Our summer this year was pretty bad...lots of rain and not hot enough for being a summer. Today it's just 8C, but at least we got a little bit of sunshine. I think the school starts today, but I am not sure...
ReplyDeleteOh no-that's a bummer for sure-we had very little rain after early July none in August and temps close to 100 degrees F plus high humidity for all of August til this week-a cool down. so I am in one of those states here in the usa that had a too hot summer hopefully winter will not be as bad as they are predicting Happy Monday
DeleteSorry about the lift -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeletethank you-this is a let down for sure
DeleteGlad you are cooling down. We are getting rain off and on here today. It is not enough but I will take anything right now. I do hope your husband gets what he needs to get around.

I was hoping to get rain too but it is not in the forecast as of yet. thanks I guess the lift is on standby for now-sadly
DeleteIf I was teaching I'd be back to school this week. I don't miss it.:) And enjoy your cool down. It's moving our way too. :) Happy new week Kathy. hugs-Erika

Hubby had a good report from the ENT doc today... not what we were expecting conclusion but not a bad one so we'll take it.. Here the kids go back Aug 15 or there abouts.. .When i was a kid , if i lived up North We went back after Labor Day If i lived in the South if was about the middle of August... So sorry to hear about Larry's lift... that must have been so devastating... Sending you hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteGlad your husband got a good health report. I was brought up in northern Indiana so maybe that's why we started after Labor Day That could be fun going through old photos-good memories too. I am really bumbed about the lift-but stuff happens. Larry did good with physical therapy yesterday but after a few hours his pain intensified Have a good week hugs
DeleteSome rain and thunderstorms moved in on Saturday night, but it went all around us. We got a bit of rain last evening but not even enough to wet your whistle. We need it badly. At least the temps have gone down and my flowering Bluebeard shrubs are starting to bud out. They should have been flowering all Summer starting at the beginning of July. Too bad Larry could not get the lift. Hopefully he will be able to get another one soon. Janice
ReplyDeleteGood morning, that's what happened here a couple times this month-lots of thunder and lightening but no rain-it just moved on sigh. Glad you are getting some blooms. I am really bumbed about the lift situation have a good rest of yur week
