  1. WOW, that trash can is amazing. If only we could get people to quit buying plastic, we would be so much better off.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful projects with us on Earth Day, dear Kathy. I am off to follow the rest of your links.

    1. It's not a matter of getting people to quit buying plastic, but a matter of getting manufacturers to stop using it. The beverage industry was the the ones who created the problems in the first place. We used to happily return glass bottles for a few pennies for manufacturers to reuse. The recycling process isn't as cost effective as we were told and a lot of the plastic is not recycled at all. )-:

    2. It actually is both. We create the demand by buying products like water in small bottles, when we could buy in the gallon size and refill our own bottles. Or better yet, fill our own with filtered tap water and not buy the bottled water at all. As long as there is demand, manufacturers will respond. So, lets create demand for products using recycled materials, like trash can liners. Why do we need to use new plastic for something we'll throw away? Get restaurants to stop handing out plastic straws to everyone, so they won't be throwing away unused straws that have simply been on a table.

  3. There were some really cool ideas. I especially liked the t-shirt tote. I have a T-shirt that doesn't fit any more (it must have shrunk! =^,.^= ), but I hate to part with it. I just have to re-watch the video a hundred times to understand tying the fringe so there are no holes. Thanks for sharing
