Welcome November-Updated
Wow we are closing in on the end of this year with holidays and soon to welcome in a new year-Wow is right Smiles
This has been a long year for me being Larry's caregiver since October 2023 but it has also gone fast too. I have just three more blocks on the bag handles to finish slow stitching-and then I can hand sew the bag together to see how it looks. I am looking forward to the finish to see how this will turn out.
Today we will be much cooler-in the low '60's F We had gotten spoiled with a warm October Most of the leaves are down now do to a lot of windy days and we did get one night of hard rain this week.
On a sad note: it is good that I am still approving comments as I have been getting hate comments now for a few weeks-so if that person is reading this --your comments will Not be published-and I don't read them in their entirety No reason for this hatred and you hide behind anonymous . I am thinking this person is not reading my blog posts but decided to choose me for their hate speech-I needed to let this be known was happening.
Oh and I wanted to also share that I just set up a duck-grown in the USA with nothing added-in a brine this morning-after this it will go into the smoker. Larry enjoys doing that, he'll need to show me how to work the smoker though.
The last few whole chickens and turkeys I have purchased are not worth eating any more unless you can find a local farmer that raises them. I looked at the ingredients in the turkeys recently and the store brand had two lines of chemicals added, and the whole chickens are really horrible eats these days as well. This duck I found at Wal mart was raised in the USA nothing added but a low salt water solution. It looked really good out of the bag. .So now it is in the brine of water, canning salt, pickling spice, and organic brown sugar. Will keep you posted how this turned out.
Welcome November Everyone

Good Morning Friday
Happy Friday and Weekend,
My area of the Ozarks-Missouri is having a cool down-however in full sun it is still super hot for me. When we retired to this area back in the fall of 2003 it took me some time to get used to the hot sun. We are closer to the sun then when we were in northern Illinois. I went out at 6:30 am today to start weed eating our tall and thick grass. It was still wet but got quite a bit done. Came in for an hour break and then went out for another hour. Very hot-now in the full sun, and my back cant take more than 2 hours at a time-with all that leaning over.
This week I called about one of those outdoor seats on rails that ride over the steep steps. Of course they would not give us any idea of the prices-so one of their sales persons will be coming out this morning. Larry thinks it could be super expensive but you don't know 'til we find out. Also these steps really narrow up at the top so not sure how that will work either.
I was also thinking depending on the cost I may just set up a go fund me page to help raise money. Do you think that would be too weird to do? I have contributed to several in the past.
With the coming election, I am praying our country will come together and with kindness and caring about the future for us and our great country.
I have those fresh lemons out of the frig-so perhaps later today I can tackle making the lemon meringue pie. smiles
I don't do games like many do on their computers or smart phones-but I do like puzzles over on jigsaw planet. I am working on this one now.
This morning I found this on Facebook-this really hits home in our world today We need to research everything now to find out what the truth is these days.
Enjoy your day

Stitches & This & That
I did start on one of the embroidery wolf panels yesterday-this one is mostly all X's and then some type of border stitch around the wolf, trees, stars, moon. I needed something simple right now-with Not a lot of thinking.
If you are on Instagram-they have amazing embroidery tutorials. I started following a couple and then of course many more popped into my feed. Some of the best how to videos for embroidery I have seen so far.
We got a major storm last night into this morning, my rain gauge had 2 inches of rain in it. Of course more of the roof on the dock has come loose since it continues to be very windy. The noise drives me crazy with the loose metal roofing panels flapping in the wind. and Wow next week is July 4th already-where did the time go??? The lake will be crazy busy during that time. The 4th is the busiest on the lake.
If not raining tomorrow hoping to do some food shopping including finding some melons before the holiday weekend gets here..
I got more cleaning done this morning too-washed down all the wood kitchen cabinets with a wood soap, dusted the two ceiling fans. Since it was cooler today and the a/c was not running all day today-I caught up with laundry too. I try not to have too many electric things going when the a/c is on. Our co-op electric co is now charging for excess usage at peak times. Of course when I called about this, she could not tell me what the peak times were. I keep the a/c at 79 too so it can go off and not run 24 hours.
I bought fresh lemons to make a from scratch lemon meringue pie soon. So refreshing during a hot day. I may make that on Friday,
Hoping things are going well for you all.

Snoopy
On my Facebook feed during the last month or so, I have worked on getting rid of negativity posts (news feeds etc) and replacing with positivity, scenery, recipes, crafts and smiles-I have always enjoyed Snoopy so am following different Snoopy groups now-this one had me smiling with the spirit of Christmas and the season
