Butterfly on Bee Balm

Over the last few days I have seen a hummingbird and at least one butterfly on the bee balm plants-makes me happy

My husband loves snapdragons but I never do well with them. These few are doing pretty good so far

  2. Lovely photos. Snapdragons are beautiful, I love them, too, but they don't do well in my balcony containers. Have a great week, hugs, Valerie

    1. thats' good to know that the snapdragons will reseed-didn't know that. the bee balm for sure will keep getting bigger-there are three-one is really small so far, I will dig one of the bigger ones this spring and plant in a different spot

  4. I don't do well with Pansies .. I've never tried snapdragons.. Along with Pansies i consider them cool weather plants that will fade with the heat of Summer.. Your Bee Balm is gorgeous.. Does it come in any other colors i wonder? I have seen a couple butterflies here but mainly i found 2 ant beds i had to take care of.. This reminds me i need to work on a T post! Hugs! deb

    1. Good morning Deb, yes the bee balm comes in different colors-last year I had ordered 3 very small plants online and one died so they replaced it-but I didn't know which color died-so I have 2 of this purple which I like too, hoping the third one will be the red one. These are perennials and they will grow large and wide-so either this fall or next spring I will move one of the purples to another location. the third which is behind these two is very small so far. If you like your own teas the leaves and flowers made a tea-just dry them out.
I am busy with lots of cooking so I won't be on T this week. The guys sleep in the room where my computer is-so can't be in their late in the evening like I am sometimes up.
      sorry for the book haha

  8. Kathy, around here we call them "bunnies" I remember that when I was a girl I played with them making them open and close what looked like the rabbit's mouth.

  10. Very nice🦋! Butterflies need good flowers, especially the Monarch. Next garden center trip, I will look for bee balm.
Snapdragons like a bit of cool air. For some reason, the yellow ones do better than other colors in the yard here.
