T Stands for Tuesday

Here we are again joining friends for T over with Bleubeard and Elizabeth-link in my side bar. You are welcome to join just share a drink related photo.

It's been another week with lots of storms and rain, and over the weekend we dropped to the 40's f with lots of wind all day Sunday.

I was able to finish up that gardening area I was working on,  in between the rains. I added allot of bags of soil to this hard clay-which will need more this fall or next spring. I had a large area left unplanted, so I dug out my coffee can of saved marigold seeds and spread that out really thick. These are old seeds so hoping many of them will grow. I also have another tin full of zinnia seeds I will be planting in another area.

We will need to tackle the tall grass again this week, and I need to learn how to use the weed eater soon. Sadly lots more rain most days this coming week.

On off days I have played with watercolors for a journal page for AJJ and also another page for  AJJ's theme this month Birds with mixed papers. Here are a couple photos in case you missed those posts.

I don't have new lake photos this week to share, but I did take this moon photo over the lake before the eclipse.

My drink share this week is a decaf coffee with a splash of my homemade Kahlua This is another handmade pottery cup in my collection of handmade pottery pieces

Those of you that enjoy working with watercolors I wanted to share an article from Winsor and Newton's newsletter this month about the Golden Age of Watercolor 1750-1850  found this an interesting read

I also wanted to share a beautiful watercolor painting that I received from one of my slow mail friends. It is so beautiful that I have it sitting on my desk in my craft room so I can enjoy it and be inspired.
Thank you Debbie  of blog View From Harmony Hills

That's it for me this week Happy T Day Everyone

  1. I use to make home made kalua years ago. Now I can't remember the last time I even drank it. I have a Bailys now and then. Sounds like you have been very busy.

    1. we don't drink kahlua very often but I like it in coffee once in awhile and I make mine with decaf instant coffee and splenda so it's decaf and sugar free. I haven't had Bailys in a long time-I have a recipe for that too
I have allot to do outdoors but now its cold sigh

  5. I was here earlier and after leaving comments, I suddenly got a message that my post failed to publish and come back later. Tried twice and gave up. Now I'm back and hopefully blogger will be kinder to me.

When I first moved to this house, the front yard was NOTHING but clay. Hard, dry clay. At the time, my local zoo was selling zoo manoo for $20.00 (USD) for a pickup load. Two years later, I had a friend from school who took me to the zoo and we bought TWO truck loads. I spread it over the front yard and watered well. Last month I was digging in my front flower bed and found the BIGGEST worms you can imagine. I know that means my soil is now healthy and the clay has turned to a garden that worms want to be in. I hope your top soil gives you the same results I got from my zoo manoo. Unfortunately, the zoo has stopped selling it. Probably because it requires three years to mature enough it can be spread on gardens.

I must live in a cave. I had NO idea we even had an eclipse. DUH. Nice photo, though.

WOW, Debbie is an amazing artist. I am super impressed with her painting.

Lovely mug. Nice to see you are still using your homemade Kahlua. Bet it went well with your coffee. Thanks for sharing your art, your eclipse, your seeds, and your coffee with Kahlua with us for T this Tuesday, Kathy.

    1. Manure is the best ever for gardens for sure-we don't have a source for that any more-but a great way to improve the soil for sure.

  6. Hi Kathy. Sounds like you've been busy in the garden. I hope your seeds grow. I planted some zinnias and I see little seedlings popping up, so hopefully the chipmunks won't get to them. Smile. Your Kahlua in coffee sounds like a nice mix. I know its tastes great in coco too. Have a great T day. Hugs-Erika

  11. Kathy I am so honored that you liked my watercolor and wanted to share it. I adore your pages of art you posted - Birds make the most lovely subjects. Wish you lived closer so we could paint together. Would it not be fun??
Glad to read that the storms left you without too much damage. The weather was predicted to be bad for us this weekend but we just had a little wind and a few thunderstorms. Always glad when they pass through. Well take care sweet friend. Hugs!

  12. Debbie's paintings are always beautiful and have inspired me for almost 14 years. I think we have known each other close to that time. She inspired me to try watercolors, even though I was always scared of them. It's just a matter of using them a lot. I really like using them now but I will never be the artist Debbie is. She captures the beauty and the feeling of what she paints. That is a true artist.
By the way, young lady, YOU are doing very well! Your bird painting is beautiful! I am going to write to you this week. Sorry it's been so long my friend!!!
