Good morning everyone,
Sunshine this morning but still quite chilly. We have had rain all week so far.
I decided I wanted to get out my watercolors and try painting something. To get better I am going to need to practice every week I am thinking since I am Not an artist in this venue.
I grabbed a mixed media notebook and tried to paint some flowers. We have been seeing the Canada Geese pairing off this week, as well as the birds so decided to grab my stamp. I also grabbed a butterfly stamp and letter stamps Will be sharing for Valerie's Spring theme over on Art Journal Journey
This morning's sunrise
Always love to see an artjournal page from you Kathy! I watch a YouTube channel .. 'Let's Make Art' .. they have simple techniques they show and great projects.. even the ones geared toward kids are fun.. For some reason your site will not update on my blog scroll to let me know when you've made a post.. All the other blogs do.. isn't that weird? I have to remember to come over more often and check and see if you've posted.. Hugs! deb
ReplyDeletethat is weird about my site not updating.
Deletethanks for the you tube channel reference-I have it bookmarked now
Practice is all it is. If you like it enough to keep doing it, your skill will improve, just like when you learned how to tie your shoes! That was a case of have-to, but when you see yourself getting better little by little with painting, that makes you want to keep painting! I love your flowers!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra, I appreciate that-need to find more time to paint I love watercolors over acrylics-I have both paints
DeleteThe sunshine morning shots are absolutely gorgeous, Kathy.
ReplyDeletethank you Angie-we never tire of the views
DeleteGreat spring page Kathy. I like your flowers and the geese. Art is a journey and its all practice until you feel you have they way you want. At least that's how look at it. I can't wait to see where you go with this weekly play. Thanks for sharing with us at Art Journal JOurney and have a great start to your weekend. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeletethank you Erika, I agree art is a journey-and I bounce around allot with different mediums too. I like this idea of a weekly painting session for myself. Happy weekend
DeleteYour watercolour is so wonderful and lovely golden sunrise!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
-Soma

ReplyDeletethank you Happy weekend to you and your family
DeleteLovely page, Kathy, and ohhhh, do I mention how beautiful your lake is?
ReplyDeleteSunny and chilly here, too. I wore my Gurri this morning and met two men in t-shirts! In 39F!!! Have a great weekend, if still cool :-)
Good morning Iris, yes still very cool here too but at least the sunshine is back Happy weekend
DeleteFabulous journal page, Kathy, love the contrast between the geese and the colourful flowers! Thanks so much for sharing the sunrise pics, too, so lovely! Thanks for another beautiful entry for my challenge at AJJ, much apprecated! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeletethank you so much Valerie
DeleteThe sunrise looks so warm, nice for a chilly day. Your art journal page is lovely. Your flowers would make a pretty fabric pattern. There's tutorials online for how to make repeat patterns. Then see how it looks on Spoonflower. :)
ReplyDeletethank you, I ran into spoonflower couple a years ago looking for outlander fabric-that is a cool site for designing fabrics
DeleteI love the goose stamp, but most of all, I love your flowers and the way you turned the page into a wonderful entry for Valerie's theme at Art Journal Journey. This is a fun, fun entry.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Elizabeth, and thank you so much for your kind comments for my spring page. this page was not planned out before hand-well most of mine are not planned I just do it haha
DeleteGorgeous watercolour flowers Kathy. I do like watercolours they seem to have a delicate and ethereal look to them. Unfortunately I cannot paint at all. I used to draw but when it got down to painting my drawing I always messed it up. I remember our art teacher at school told me to just stick to real life drawings. My that was such a long time ago. Keep well. Amanda x
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda, I love the look of watercolors too, am hoping with practice I can get better-I am no artist either for drawing or painting-but it is fun and relaxing.
DeleteHappy weekend
I started drawing toward the beginning of last year but need to practice more. I’m not an artist, but I enjoy trying. I love your journal and your view of the lake and sunrise.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kimberli, I am no artist either when comes to pen or paints but enjoy trying too
Deletethank you
ReplyDeleteLovely art and photographs.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
