March 29th National Vietnam War Veterans Day

Our Vietnam Veterans finally welcomed home-it's been a rough road for these Americans-I know first hand how they were not welcomed home so many years ago---this makes me happy for them.

  1. That was a bad war, and so many suffered. My brother-in-law was killed there. Hugs, Valerie

  2. I was a kid during the war and when it ended so other than my cousin, I didn't know anyone in the war. But they did need recognition, and it took them too long to get it, didn't it? I enjoyed your post today. Hugs-Erika
ps-Do you know any banana bred recipes for cast iron baking? I need to use up some bananas tonight and I'd like to join in your challenge. Or can I use a regular old banana bread recipe? Thanks!

  3. My brother served in Viet Nam came home with a Bronze Star. Nice to see these veterans getting the recognition they deserve.

  4. Thanks for sharing this and reminding us of all of those that lost and broken during that war. A dark time for our country and our soldiers.

  5. These veterans are getting the recognition they deserve much too late - unbelievable- so many of these young men were killed and broken during this bad war - a good idea to post this today Kathy!

  7. Thanks for this, Kathy. Those were horrible times in the U.S. - and Vietnam too, of course. I still know vets who are struggling with the aftereffects both physical and mental.
