T Stands for Tuesday & My Week

Happy T Stands for Tuesday everyone!

I am joining in with Elizabeth here for a fun Tuesday with sharing and a beverage.  (with my apologies I totally forgot my beverage last Tuesday)

We have had a different week since last Tuesday-it has actually been cold here-very cold with hard freezes at night now for a few days. We missed all the snow, I would have loved to had gotten just a little bit as it is always so pretty here in the woods, but we did get hail at times on a couple of days but nothing large enough to break anything-thank goodness.

(all photos will enlarge just click on them)

Too cold for me to do my walk most days, but I have been unloading firewood and stacking it, and walking up and back in the house. I am working hard to do some sort of physical activity each day.

I have been working on the textured walls in my bathroom and finished that over the weekend. Today (Monday morning) I will paint kilnz over it to seal, and use the swiffer to clean the rest of the walls of the plaster dust from the ceiling project. In the one photo you can see in front of the shower I need to cut off some paper along the edges. and after I posted these photos I realized I forgot to paper that area up on top where the shower head and also along over to the bathtub-sigh I am contemplating about leaving that non papered or if it will stand out too much. I really don't feel like doing it lol
Then I am soooo ready to put color on the walls-happy dancin-this has been such a long term project with different events popping up-but I am hoping this is the year for completion.
The first photo is a shelving area around the back of the tub area and the second photo is the shower I made with rocks.

Just before it got cold I decided to plant one of my raised beds with spring greens, radishes etc. I don't think this cold should hurt them but will find out when it warms up again. My daffodils didn't mind the cold at all they are still very pretty. The other day the blackbirds arrived and we have had allot of big crows visit too-they do not usually come up near the house-so this cold is leading them to the left over corn.

I also decided over the weekend to learn something new for me-I am quite excited about it read all about it here

hint: I just bought these vintage hooks for my new project, found them on Etsy.

My beverage mostly now for the morning is my herbal no caffeine beverage that I brew in my french press. I also don't have many cups anymore-no place to put them and I only need a few right?? lol
This cup I love and won it years and years ago at a quilt shop when I visited the fabshop hop I think it's called-where you collect bunnies from all the shops and hope to win prizes. This is a really nice quilt shop too and I love the cup
.
I just poured me a fresh pot and my new creamer is Silk's almond creamer-just spotted it in our local store-our area so rural I figure we are the last to get these newer products-this is the first I have seen it-and I love their almond milk.

  1. Such a pretty blue mug Kathy.... I'm down to half caff on my coffee but don't see myself getting much lower than that..lol I drink water the rest of the day then have a cherry coke zero at night when watching TV...

Well we pretty much have the same weather as you but we scored some actual SNOW!!! just enough to turn it into a winter wonderland.. I took a few pics and will post later... I dragged hubby out for a walk in it... I think he enjoyed it once he got out there.. Stopped by the neighbors and scraped the snow off the cars and had a little snowball fight.. by midmorning the next day it was gone...

I just LOVE your rock shower Kathy! I look forward to see it all finished!! Hugs! deb

  5. It's been cold here, too. Unfortunately it's been very dry and there is no humidity, so many wildfires have popped up all over the state.

I've never seen hooks that looked like both crochet and knitting needles before. I know you will use these.

I really like your shower. It is going to be fantastic when you get it finished. BTW, even though you only showed a small part, I have one of those blue two-step step stools, too.

Your French press is wonderful. I gave mine away years ago because I have trouble pressing and then cleaning it. I've heard good things about Silk, but I am a die hard 1/2 and 1/2 person. Of course, I would LOVE to have that blue cup. It goes so well in my kitchen where I have white, copper, and cobalt blue. Thanks for sharing this and your new shower with us for T this Tuesday.

    1. Good morning Elizabeth, I have cobalt accents in my kitchen too along with stainless. Those ladders are the greatest for me-easier for me to use now although ladders still really get to my bad knee.
We are extremely dry here too-although we did finally get a little rain the other day but not nearly enough-fires here as well
thanks for hosting T for Tuesday

  11. The remodel will be so beautiful when it's finished. That stone shower is just gorgeous. I hated to wallpaper and paint the small area in the bathroom, so when we remodeled, we tiled every inch of wall space. No paper or paint except the ceiling.I have never heard of Tunisian crochet or seen crochet needles. Will be interested to see what you make. Have a Happy T Day!

    1. Good morning, so glad you stopped by for T Day
I am with you and it keeps life more interesting trying out new things. I learned to set rocks from my husband so made a hearth for the woodstoves, back wall behind my big wolf stove, and in the bathroom-allot of fun too. Happy T day

  15. Oh wow! I love your rock shower! I do so like to see what you are doing as you live just as rural as we and we almost live off grid (yes, we do have electric, but don't use many electric appliances). I donj't mind at all being the last to get all the latest products. Basic food with as little chemicals and e numbers in them is what we like. I drink caffeine free too and we use almond milk (and soya milk) too. But then we live in an almond growing area.
Your mug is lovely I love that royal blue colour.
I can't wait to see what you do with those crochet needles. Like Jo I recognise them as tunesian needles.
    Happy T-Day,
    Lisca

    1. Hi Lisca yes these are tunisian crochet needles-they should arrive in the mail by end of week.
we live really simple too, and I refuse to own a smart phone as well lol I just use my desk top computer as well. do you garden and can as well? I don't do as much as I use to but I still enjoy it.
      Happy T day

    2. We do have some land and hubby can't wait to get growing, but we are still constructing our house. So I grow a few things in pots. We get lots of produce given to us by kind neighbours because they know that I make jams and chutneys. I don't can vegetables as they are always available. We live in a village that has a small veg shop and a weekly produce market.
And yes, I too only use my computer. That's why I often comment late or the day after, as I have to wait until I get home.I love blogging but I don't want it to take over my life.
      CU soon

  16. I'm impressed with your shower. That stone is striking! I'm hoping this cold wave doesn't hurt the flowers, but the daffodils do seem safe :)

    Happy T Tuesday!

  18. Hello there, I came over from Magnolia's Tea blog. I live in Kansas City, but we're going to be moving south of Springfield once we find a good place in the country and a job transfer for my husband (in a couple of months). We dream of having an herb and cut flower farm. Maybe we'll be neighbors!

Glad your dafs are dealing with the cold as mine would be buried if they had made it up-but luckily they haven't yet. Enjoy-hugs-Erika
