Gorgeous Day at the Lake House Today with Lots of Photos

Turned out to be a summer like day today-Wow-we were not expecting full sun and mid 80's f   We all enjoyed the day

I got more doors painted today, and enjoyed watching all the boats in the water too.

Hubs really wanted to get his fishing boat launched and on to the boat lift-we were able to do that today. He was smiling for sure.  We discovered a Missouri conservation boat ramp and fishing, picnic area just down the road from us. It turned out to be a 10 minute trip on the lake to our home, so Hubs was pleased as he thought it was going to be more like a half an hour. So him and our friend Mr L spent some time fishing. Hubs caught a couple catfish that he threw back in, and one of our friends got a large bass but threw him in too as bass are not in season yet.  After fishing a for little bit off our dock our two workers got back to the pavers and got allot done.

Here are some photos: click to enlarge to full size

Boat on the lift-out of the garage and into new home

Photos from the upper deck of house The sun was very bright

We are hoping these are the edible tree mushrooms-will find out this coming fall

Lots and Lots of boats on the water today

This photo was taken through the screen door in the living room-I was painting doors and heard this big boat go by

  1. Pretty pictures for sure Kathy! We live about 1/2 a mile from the lake and we can hear the boats all summer.. It sure cured me from wanting to live any closer to the lake.. I hope the boat noise is not too bad for you.. You can hear people partying and playing loud music. Nope not for me.. I think alot of people think of living by a lake like aaaahhh peace and quiet .. relaxation.. It has not been that way for us.

  2. I think you're going to like living on the lake, especially after being so isolated before. Love all the photos, too.

  3. Wow. Boating. I bet it was a great day on the lake. I'm glad to hear the hubs could get out. And that you had summer like weather. We had spring like weather and all we have left now is a few piles of snow. Hurrah. Happy new week Kathy. Hugs-Erika

  4. Hi Kate. My husband has a boat too. And he loves fishing. So, when I come to visit you, we will make fabric albums and our husbands will go fishing! So everyone will be happy! Ha ha! Hugs, my dear friend. I love that your house is sooo near to the lake.

  5. We are just enough older that we’ve had this experience of living on water, but it was tidal water and we struggled through Superstorm Sandy here in NJ. After that, we sold and moved back inland. If we could live on a lake without the same kind of concern, I’d enjoy being on water again. Right now we are content with our family home which we never sold, and I do miss having a place on water as a getaway. Did you sell your current home and property? Enjoy everything while you can, the views are spectacular!

  9. We don't boat, but I still think lake life sounds delightful. Beautiful water and woodsy views. When I think about retirement years that sounds like a good life :)
