T Stands for Tuesday and a Giveaway (with a special condition)

Hi everyone and Happy T Stands for Tuesday
Where we share a drink related post with our hostess Bleubeard and Elizabeth-link in my right hand column. You are most welcome to join us.

Since last Tuesday I have delved back into my hallway project-tissue papering the walls for textures. The hallway is in three sections so I am working on each section from start to finish-I think it won't be so daunting this way. One section is full with so much stuff-that will be the last section lol.
Tonight I am almost finished with the texturing in the first section-a little more on the wall to go and about half the ceiling-so getting excited about this first finish.  It will get another coat of kilnz paint and then painted. I chose a very light grey for the walls.  all photos will enlarge just click on them

I have also gotten back to walking every day even if it is just a mile-I strive for 3 miles but I don't always get 3 in but I figure if I can stick with walking each day this will hopefully get me back into a routine. I am soooo bad at sticking with exercise routines.

For my Giveaway-which also comes with a condition-I would love to share one of my cornhusks papers with one of you. I would also like to send along a second piece for you to create a woodland or country theme for me which I will want to frame and hang, My art expertise is not paper art but fibers. You all make such beautiful art that I was hoping you might be interested in this challenge.  If so just say so in comments and I will draw a winner.

for my beverage tonight I am enjoying a diet root beer along with a gluten free blueberry fig bar  This is sitting on one of  my handwoven placemats that I made years ago.

This is also a day of reflection being 9/11 here in the States-no we will  never forget what happened that day-wow 16 years ago now.
Also prayers for all those in harms way of the hurricanes in Texas and Florida and the storms around those states-we have a friend that lives in the keys I pray he still has a home after the hurricane.
Also prayers for all those in harms way do to the fires out west-so many in Montana and other western states.
Happy T Day all of you!

  2. I love root beer and had a diet one several nights ago. They are wonderful, aren't they?

I love what you are doing on your walls, so I look forward to seeing a completed section soon.

I fear I would not do your beautiful corn husk paper justice, so I would NOT want to be in the draw. There are so many talented artists, I believe I would disappoint you if I messed up the paper.

Thanks for sharing your gorgeous wall and your root beer and fig bars with us for T this Tuesday, dear Kathy.

  5. Hi Kathy- Now that's an interesting wall idea I have never heard of. I bet it will look great. And I'd like to be in paper drawing. It's very cool paper. Good luck with the walking. It's easy not to go but once you get moving, I think it gets easier. But then once you stop, you have to start all over again getting back into the routine. Even a mile is better than not going! Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  6. You have created such lovely texture on your walls with the tissue paper, it must have taken ages to cover. The corn husk paper turned out really well and I love your beautiful hand woven placements too 😁. Happy T Day! J 😊

  7. I never had root beer yet - shame on me. Love your wall project ! Good luck with the walk-routine!
It would be too expensive to send the paper to me and a project with it back to you, I guess - think you should better find an artist in the U.S. for the swap.
    Happy T-Day!

  8. Having purchased your wonderful fiber papers on Etsy, I can attest to their wonderful texture. I hope someone will volunteer for your giveaway. I am not artistic enough to create a woodland scene. But it sounds like a lovely idea.

  9. i´d love to try root beer, never heard of it.
and i should take up your Resolution with the Walking... a few years ago it was a Routine to me to go 3 miles each day, and i missed it when i couldn´t. but then circumstances threw me out of my schedule and i´ve never found back again. a good idea to start over with a smaller distance... maybe that could work for me, too.
    happy t-day!

  10. I Kathy! Thats my favorite brand of rootbeer...Walmart stopped selling the Diet Mug Rootbeer around here any way and i have not been able to find it anywhere.. Grrrrr.... ! With the cooler weather i need to start walking again too.. I've had such a difficult time making it a habit... So happy your walls are coming together... Breaking it up into mangagable parts is the only way i can get some projects done... So many doors in my hallway i'm just concentrating on caulking and painting one door at a time and i try not to look at the rest...lol .. Just finished the bathroom door.. On to the next!! LOL! Happy T day! Hugs! deb

  17. I couldn't make it to tea this week, Kathy, - we're traveling - but I just wanted to pop by and say, "hi."

I've been walking more too, but that's because we're on vacation and I'm not glued to the computer all day - lol.

    Hugs, Eileen
