T Stands for Tuesday The Snow Moon and Sunrise

Our first Tuesday of the month, I am happy to see January behind us-it was a rough one with the bitter cold. I am linking up with Bleubeard and Elizabeth T party where we share our week with a drink related photo-find link in my sidebar.

Hoping those of you on the east coast have warmed up a bit now. I saw some unbelievable wind chill temps of minus 108 F and more-I don't think I have ever seen that cold of a temperature before. Brrr  Here in the ozarks we are finally enjoying a bit of warm up. Still very cold in the early mornings but today it warms up to the 60's F with sunshine and then will drop down again. Missouri in this area is known for these huge weather swings.

The full moon-the snow moon-was February 5th and it was glorious here. Still amazing this morning as well. I grabbed the camera as I saw it over in the area looking out the front door up where the eagle pair sits. I caught it just before it sunk into the trees

and last night over the lake

I was pleased I was able to capture the moon photos with my old camera

and this  morning's sunrise (Monday)

Last night I was cold so I made another mug of hot chocolate with  mini marshmallows Behind my mug you will find the 4th edition of the Yellowstone wolves by Mcintyre.  I have been wanting to buy this book since it was released last year but the price of the book has been high-at least for me too expensive. Every few weeks or so I check online, and last week I found a copy that was like new for a reasonable price with the option to submit a lower price.  I put in $15.00 including his shipping price and the seller took it.  I am very happy to finally get this book.

I couldn't believe that Amazon Fedex is now delivering on Sundays. Surprise-my KC Chiefs blanket arrived this past Sunday. Here is a photo from the site  Do you like to buy blankets of your favorite teams? Over the years I almost always make my own blankets for the teams I follow. Fabric.com is a great site for buying the fleece.  My Green Bay Packers blankets finally bit the dust, and I wanted one for the Chiefs this year, so I decided to purchase one instead of making one. This blanket is very very soft and large 60x80 inches. So I am ready for the Super Bowl haha

Speaking of the Super Bowl, I may post on Friday or Saturday links to super bowl foods. You are most welcome to share your foods in comments.

Do you have a super bowl party?  My husband does Not watch any sports at all especially with the past political nonsense  that occurred, so it's just me and the tv but I may just make pizzas that day, maybe chocolate popcorn not sure yet.

I have been saving up the mandarin orange peels to make ink-inspired by Elizabeth's last T post.  I should have enough soon. Hoping to get a pretty yellow.

Happy T and new week-from the Lake

  4. It looks like a beautiful book Kathy. We wanted the Bills to get a chance at the Super Bowl-especially since it was my husband's late sister's fav team. Maybe next year! Hope your team wins! The photos of your sky over the lake are so beautiful.

  10. You got some great moon shots Kathy. We had a bit of "haze" so our moon was fuzzy. Your sunrise photos are amazing. That must be beautiful to wake up to. You must be excited about the superbowl. We won't do anything except watch it. My husband loves football, so I see a lot of it, especially in the winter when we're inside more. I hope you have a wonderful T day and week ahead too Kathy. hugs-Erika

  12. Beautiful moon, but ack, the cold, I´m done with that!
Oh, the sunrise looks like a promise of warmth... And your lake, so peaceful.

Yes, sometimes the wait is worth it - hope the book is as great as you expected!
I found a funny book in the street yesterday (see next T-Day, if you like).

Very cool blanket. Oh can´t you have the Super Bowl at night, please? Then I could watch at daytime ;-)
    Yes, yes, yes, please link!
So sad I am too dumb/don´t have the equipment to simply record the Super Bowl.
Reckon also they will skip braodcasting the ads!
    Sad your Hubby skips this!

To ink! I will probably just eat them - if I find good ones (here it´s difficult! Also avocados etc...)

Happy T-Day to you (and the Lake, of course!) hugs

  13. This is the first week our daytime temps have been above freezing. It has been SO cold here, too.

Your moon shots are phenomenal. I love how you framed the moon between the branches. Truly lovely.

Your new book sounds wonderful, but that would still have been more than I could have spent on a book. I can only imagine what it sold for at retail! I hope you enjoy it. It sounds like something I'm sure you will enjoy.

Your hot chocolate looks really good. Right now, I am drinking luke warm coffee, so I would gladly join you with your drink of choice this week. Thanks for sharing your amazing moon shots, your sunrise beauties, your new book, and your hot chocolate with us for T this almost Tuesday.

BTW, can you guess who I will be cheering for at the Superbowl? The color red might give you an idea! I can't decide if I want to have a Superbowl party this year or not. It's a lot of work, the food I have to buy or make costs a fortune, and I end up cleaning all the mess on my own afterward.

    1. yes I didn't want to spend this much on the book, I usually spend less than 5.00 on books, but this author's books have gotten quite a following now so this one was quite expensive. I think the seller read this book and then sold it on ebay.
That would be fun to have a super bowl party, we don't know any one here to invite. I would suggest to have everyone bring something to share than it would be less work and expense for you-The clean up, surprised you wouldn't get help with that. hugs from the lake

  15. Hi Kathy, great moon photos. That moon has been shining in our bathroom window every night. I should have opened the window and snapped a photo, it was so bright, at first I thought I'd left a light on in there! Amazon delivers every day here too, right up till about 10pm sometimes. I keep thinking about all that cardboard... Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx

    1. This month's full moon was really bright and beautiful. I have never had an amazon delivery on sunday before-was a surprise she said this was a trial to see how it goes here. I always have allot of cardboard to recycle as I do allot of online shopping-just easier and cheaper since we live so rural here
      Happy T

  16. I caught the 'snow moon' while it was still low in the sky last night so it was so BIG and beautiful! with a lovely yellow/orangey cast to it.. What great pictures of the moon and sunrise Kathy... I loved the 'smoke' on the water when i lived by the lake.. We love hot chocolate with marshmallow whip at least once or twice over the Winter.. Go Chiefs!!!! I worry a little because of Mahomes' ankle and they've lost some of their fire power to injuries.. and the Eagles seem to be a formidable team this year.. But know that i'am Chiefs all the way!! lol Happy T day! Hugs! deb

    1. The moon was really huge and bright this month. Never thought of using marshmallow cream-cool idea!! The chiefs had allot of injuries at that title game but they got the job done. I am hoping with 2 weeks off Mahomes ankle will me much better. This should be a close game down to the very end-those are always so exciting to watch and nerve racking too hugs

  17. Great moon photos and spectacular sunrises. We were surprised once to get an Amazon delivery on a Sunday. Nothing special for Super Bowl since New England isn't in it this year. Himself will watch, but we don't do any special food. Pizza sounds perfect. Happy T Day

  18. The sunsets are gorgeous!
Loving the idea of the orange peels for ink. Looking forward to seeing your results.
Have you ever bought books off of Thriftbooks? They have great prices and excellent customer service. If I ever get a book that is not in the condition advertised, they replace it free of charge and tell me to donate the book. Not everything is a great price but I find most things are.
By the way, I bought one of those glass pens today. You were right. I added it to my cart but the discount didn't apply until right before purchase. I can't wait to try it out. Thanks for all the info on them.
    Happy Tea day,

    1. Hi Kate, yes I have been on thrift books and I think I did buy a couple books off there. Usually I find allot of really good prices for books on ebay and they are mostly free shipping there but not always.I looked everywhere online for this book. most were priced around 25.00 plus shipping on up allot running around $35.00 this being his 4th book I think the author has allot of readers now
I am so glad you got the pen! Yes right at check out they put the coupon in I hope you love it-I really enjoy writing with these glass pens and this brand has that fine tip.
I am anxious to make the mandarin peel ink soon in another day or two I should have enough.

  20. What beautiful sunrise photos! Stunning sky! And great full-moon shots too. I didn't get any as the moon rises on the other side of my house and I would have to go outside and climb a steep slope/hill and at night I can't be bothered to do that to be honest.
How wonderful that you were able to get that book! I hope it meets your expectations.
Superbowl is baseball, right? I don't think we get that here. I wouldn't know as I still don't get tv programs (other than Netflix). Even then I don't think in Spain they care for basebaall (only basketball apparently). But Enjoy!
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Hugs,

the super bowls is a football game-and the winner is the champ for that year. I think the super bowl is broadcast around the world
