I finally got around to reading all the comments left while my internet was down. You asked about paint in my 2nd Thursday Tutorial. Any paint from inexpensive craft paint to latex would work. The reason I used my fluid acrylics is because they have incredible pigments and you need very little paint to create a bunch of great pages like I did.
You also mentioned gel plates. I bought a gel plate. Spent $40.00 on it. Wanted one from the minute I saw what a few others were creating long before they became popular. That was 2/3 my annual art allowance for the year I bought it, so I was SURE I would love it. I've used it exactly twice. I'm either brayer challenged, or don't use enough stencils, or don't get the piece to look like I think it should. Regardless, I know this would be a great time to make a few gel backgrounds, but I am just not interested.
Thanks for these questions and I'm sorry I didn't see them sooner, Kathy.
thank you Elizabeth-I just now got to my computer to check on things-our Wisconsin friends came down friday and just left for the long drive back home. I appreciate the information for making the background pages and about the gel plate-I never thought I would really like that-thinking it is because we are both dyers and for that's more fun hugs
Well i'm a little late.. but give him a hug for me too.. and a great big thank you.. Hubby and i went out and had a few free meals yesterday.. That was nice.. Got a free car wash too.. Received your lovely Thanksgiving card Kathy. and lovely little handmade booklet.. Thank you so much!! I've been covered up in paiting koi. Even my letter writing has suffered... But thankfully the koi is such a small painting compared to the one eyed fish that it won't take very long..lol Hugs! deb
Great post, Kathy. Also, I saw this recipe, and thought of you (because you're always baking delicious things). Cinnamon Tea Cake https://thelowcarbdiabetic.blogspot.com/2020/11/cinnamon-tea-cake-low-carb-keto.html I'm going to save the recipe for myself, too. :-)
