Good morning Friends,
I have decided I need a blog break. I enjoy visiting you all very much, but we all of a sudden have doctor visits and dentist visits coming up, and things that need doing So I think I will be off line for awhile, not sure how long I need. I do love my slow mail very much-so still love receiving those. I may stop by for visits too, just not sharing a post for a bit.
I was very unhappy with the new dentist I used so went on a Facebook group for my area and asked for dentist suggestions. Everyone was referring one of two places. I called one and they are booked up til mid December, but the other one is a father and son team that sounds perfect for me and they got me in mid September. Their office looks like an historical building not too far from that historic court house I shared awhile back. Best of all their crowns are around $900.00 (usa money) which I am used to paying not $1700.00 that the one I went to was charging.
Larry has a couple visits too and they are long drives coming up. We also go in soon for our yearly eye exams and we both are having vision issues. Old age I am sure haha
A boat hit our dock one evening so that bent up the frame in places, just can't seem to get a handle on this old dock. We did get help from friends near our woods home yesterday, and that got the heavy cement tiles down in place on the dock so that will give it weight and more stability. so progress there. One of Larry's expensive boat batteries bit the dust. Hopefully things will fall in order after Labor Day so Hubs can finally go fishing and less stress with this dock.
Every weekend now through Labor Day (first Monday in September) will be totally bonkers on the lake, as they are having the annual boat races-these are timed races for many categories of different boats, which brings people into the lake nationwide.
I think I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything going on. Allergy season has started early too so needed to get back on claritin today
On another good note a new couple we have met that are the same ages as us, picked us up to bum around a couple stores in the Amish community including the large grocery store I love. They had beautiful large fresh Georgia peaches, and their home grown cantaloupes that are always huge and delicious. I had Larry choose two of them Going through their canned goods-which some are dented cans and very much marked down-I finally found chickpeas with no salt. I have been searching everywhere for those and couldn't find any with no salt. I have been wanting to try baking with the liquid as Nicole has shared with us in the past.
I know most everyone that reads me are the total opposite of my personal political beliefs, and I will no longer get into any discussions over this as their is no point in it at all. In today's world if you don't agree with the liberal left- there is never a discussion only a put down. However even that side of things should be horrified of the weaponization of our government and the FBI attacking their political opponents just before a major primary election this November. Our media should be ashamed of themselves reporting only their left-woke opinions and never the facts any more. Walter Cronkite would be horrified. I started looking for news-not opinions- elsewhere several years ago. We are turning into a third world country before our eyes, if the direction of the left right now is not stopped.
I just recently found out Biden is paying our farmers more money to NOT plant food-why?? This latest bill they are arming 87,000 IRS agents to go after us why??
I am extremely upset about what has been taking place in our country. I pray we can save our great Republic. I love my country so I can't stand by and watch what is happening without trying to save her and that means speaking out. Thank goodness I don't have children to pass this down to if she can't be saved, although I have confidence we can.
I will leave comments open hoping they will be civil.
It looks like that you are going to have some busy days in front of you. Still, try to relax and enjoy your break, Kathy.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Angie-Thank you
DeleteEnjoy your blog break thanks for letting us know
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your post today Kathy i hope that you and i can continue to connect through art and other common interests..... I have no desire to discuss or comment on politics.. I hope you have a nice time off from your blog even though you have a lot to do.. On top of everything else someone hit your dock! crazy... Even my little mud puddle lake where i live has boat races... crazy the size boats they put in that lake! Take care of yourself girlfriend! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI know our political views are very different, but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate another on a personal level. I always marvel at the handcrafts and cooking and baking you do, just great. Don't be put off by stupid loud mouths, their opinions are not important. Enjoy your break, and then c ome back to us. Right wing or Left wing, I hope we stay friends. Hugs, Valerie
DeleteHi Valerie, thank you so much. This is exactly how I feel too, doesn't matter at all what our political or religious views are to be friends and civil with each other. Yes I love my friends here on Blogger very much.
DeleteI just felt the need to express myself, and to take a bit of a break too
Hugs Kathy
Hi Deb yes absolutely hugs
Delete🇺🇸 I think only God can save us.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your blog break. Hubby and I are always trading off doctor and dentist appointments. I hope you like the new dentist you found. It helps when the cost of dental work is reasonably priced. I am not a boat person, I am sure I would not like a crowded lake. I do not discuss anything political on my blog, I like staying neutral. Have a great day and happy weekend.
I agree, am so glad I did not settle for the too high dental price and searched else where-I do love the lake sunrises and views very much but not the too busy weekends here-wasn't expecting that when we recently moved here. Happy sunday
DeleteHave a good blog break! I think I could use one too -- I miss a few days and I can never catch up!
ReplyDeletesometimes its good to just take a break especially from the link ups
DeleteI am sorry you have a lot of appointments, The dentist is so expensive I need a bridge and last time it was 3000.00 lord knows now. I will wait awhile.
ReplyDeletehave a good blog break but don't stay away to long.
Cathy
wow that is just too much money a few years ago I had a moler tooth that I had already spend allot of money on over the years-the newest was going to be around another 3,000 or so I said just pull it at my age now can't see that kind of money again not worth it to me
Deletethanks so much Cathy
This is another great post, even though there is some not-so-good news along with the good. I think it is wonderful that you have found new friends to hang out with. You ARE brave, and I applaud you for that. I worry about the America of tomorrow and what it will be like for our children and grandchildren. A blog break sounds like a great idea, a what the doctor ordered kind of thing, so maybe I will join you. I will mail you a letter. I have some new paper I think you'll like.
ReplyDeletethank you Mary, sometimes we just need a bit of a break with allot going on in life along with stress.
DeleteI love our slow mail letters very much they make me happy-hugs look forward to the new papers
I decided yesterday to share a few photo posts but a break from link ups as those take a lot of time to visit properly
DeleteSorry you're feeling overwhelmed lately Kathy. It's been a busy summer for everyone-in many ways. I hope you enjoy your blog break and come back refreshed soon. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteGood morning, thank you so much Erika
DeleteI totally agree that you and I will never completely agree on everything. Heck, I even get into serious discussion/arguments with my friends Sally and Scott. You have NO idea how many times I have hung up on Scott when he says something he knows will push my buttons. But at the end of the day, we are still friends and respect each others' opinions. I believe the same is true with you and me, too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time away. A blog break may be just what you need. I was offline for five days and have found it impossible to catch up. I can totally relate.
Well said Elizabeth, this is part of life and growing relationships-still being friends/and or family after a "discussion" this is the way it should be sadly.
DeleteI think I may need to step back from the link ups a bit yours and Rains which I really enjoy the both of yours-but it does add stress at times, really taking the time to read each blog post and commenting well. I can tell sometimes when people don't really read what I have posted and just make a general comment which actually takes away the point of visiting--but it does all take time.
I read every word written and get so frustrated when I read a comment that shows a person didn't read my post and writes a totally inappropriate or wrong message. I try to be specific, so I can tell when someone has read my posts or not. And YES, i am a slow reader, so it takes time. Someone asked me how I ever made it through grad school when I am such a slow reader. I said because I only need to read it once, unlike most people who have to review the lesson before a test. Same with a blog post. That's why I can remember something you (the universal YOU) wrote six months or two years ago.
DeleteI find that frustrating too, I know many are still working and not retired but if one doesn't have the time to really read all the blog posts and then communicate back what is the point of it at all. and there are those that link up and don't visit everyone. that's awesome you have a good memory-I did have to really study hard in school and then go back. I had studied to be a dietician up in northern wisconsin but I couldn't grasp all the chemistry classes but I did understand all the nutrition classes so I dropped out after 2 years.
DeleteI am lucky I have good dentists, both female - yet... I did not go yet (she asked Ingo when I come for my check-up).
ReplyDeleteSad with the racers on your lake.
But yay for new friends!
I read you with he political thing, same here. We once went to a meeting, actually it was a picnic - it was "hidden" as in no sign. How sad. And don´t you say a word openly!
All "normal" people, people who work (and can make terrific noodle salad).
This party does not show up in the news anymore, if so, only in a negative way. Their members are also real (!) scientists no "fake" ones like in other parties... I could go on but will not.
Yes, farmers, same here and no I, cannot answer this.
Yes to the kids-thing. I fear what will become of my Nieces...
Let´s hope all will be civil and reasonable! Hugs! Enjoy you time out (I will miss you). Off to grocery-shopping and then on to your lake pics!
it's sad what is happening in the world today-forces working towards the new world order-woke socialism and worse sad to see many countries are needing to stand up and secure freedoms. here in the states forces have been working towards this for decades they finally got full control of the three national government branches now--hoping that will begin to change starting in November
DeleteI put off a dentist visit too for over a year as my dentist was over an hour drive away on highway driving-
I need to do a bit of grocery shopping too early this morning-hugs back
Dear Pal~ We agree about many things, and I love our friendship. It is a difficult world that we live in, and it takes time to be nice, to be kind and to really listen to each other. That's called 'respect.' It is becomming more and more rare. You have every right to voice your opinions and views and don't ever feel that you shoudn't! I hope your little vacation helps-and I hope all the appointments go well. Take care Kathy. Hugs
