Good morning Wednesday, after yesterday's rain we have a lovely cool down today. It's in the mid 70's f my favorite temperature for sure.
This had me thinking about Fall, so yesterday I grabbed my address book and blank postcards-and started addressing them, and having fun with stamping on the back. I am thinking that the protective sleeves I used last time for mailing may have slowed down the delivery. Yesterday I remembered I had a tiny jar of micro glaze that a calligrapher I follow uses to protect her envelopes that she address. It will also protect the art work on the back of the card and also protects my black walnut ink that I write with as well.
Here is a photo, I just bought another jar on Amazon. It doesn't take much-just a little and rub all over, and then I take a flannel cloth and rub all over it again.
If any of my readers would be inspired to swap handmade postcards, just drop me a note with your address in my contact form which is towards the bottom of my right column here on my page. I am mailing now but will make postcards through the end of September
This year I am more ready than ever for autumn-are you too??
Fall is in the air!
ReplyDeleteit is and I love it
DeleteIt is
DeleteWE are having bits of fall already I want this weather to last and last!
ReplyDeleteCathy
I am so ready for a couple months of fall too
DeleteIt was supposed to rain yesterday, instead it got all very hot and sunny. It's so dry everywhere this year. The water level of Rhine has reached a new low and all the ships are stopped...I have only seen the police ship there and lots of seagulls.
ReplyDeleteThat's not good-I hope you get rain soon to fill up the Rhine hugs the seagulls are fun to watch
DeleteIsn't it great how a change in weather can be such a motivator?! I love it!
ReplyDeleteYes-I love it too
DeleteNoooooooo - I want summer forever- and ever!!!!
ReplyDeleteBet you are glad not everyone gets what wanted but Mother Nature takes care of it (and we should take care of her!!!!)
Your surprise arrived - just pop over - thank you so much - you made my day and... speaking of Mother Nature... the only butterfly I saw this year. Hugs!
I wouldn't like summer forever, as I do really enjoy all of the seasons but sounds like you haven't been getting a nice warm summer for awhile now-so that can be depressing. Our mail back and forth is moving pretty fast again-loving that. Hugs
DeleteHave fun with your postcards! Great idea. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteOh I'am ready for Fall! Starting this afternoon we have 10 forecasted days of RAIN! Can you believe it?! Lets hope a few days actually bring rain! I hope you get some takers on the Post Cards.. I did not get many the last time i offered ... I like a no pressure approach.. No worries about one for one swaps... tit for tat... For me if you make something and want to send it to someone send it to me and i will LOVE it and i will do the same for you.. no quota.. you get the idea.. I don't do well with creating and deadlines.. lol I'm glad i'm already in your PC swap circle :) Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI agree, I like to send the postcards and letters out when I am inspired too. I wrote out a stack of addresses from my address book and figured I would throw it out there if anyone is interested-I usually get no one interested-but that's ok
DeleteI soooo hope you get rain hugs
I've never had any of that microglaze, but it sounds great. It is no longer 105 + here. We are NOW in the mid 90s. I'm ready for the 60s.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Elizabeth, we are really spoiled today high 70's loving it.
DeleteI really am liking this microglaze for the postcards-makes them waterproof
It's much cooler this evening, and sure has me thinking about fall. How you must enjoy these days there on the lake. I am anxious to see more of the microglaze.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, it's really nice right now either in the 70's or 80's. the micro glaze is really nice for making the postcards waterproof
DeleteSo ready for autumn!! Specially after a 100+ day on Monday and another one coming tomorrow. Glad it rained there for you. So wonderful. Wish I could play along with the sending postcards. Have a wonderful time creating and writing them.

DeleteWe finally had some rain and some cooler weather yesterday, but the sun is back today and it will be warming up a bit. That microglaze sounds interesting. It must form a protective covering? Happy start to your weekend Kathy. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteGood morning Erika, glad you got some rain and a cool down too-it is so refreshing Yes the microglaze is a sealant and makes your art and ink waterproof. I love it Happy friday and weekend hugs
