Pretty Blooms from Amaryllis

This morning all 4 blooms have opened up on the amaryllis-soooo pretty

Adding photos to my blog is still "messed up" sadly  I brought this one over by copy and paste.

We have bright sunshine today, strong winds so lots of waves on the lake.  I was looking out towards the lake this morning and there was a flock of seagulls fishing. Usually they are on the far side away from me, but this time just past our dock-so very fun to watch them flying and diving for fish.

I got most of the wood wiped down yesterday in the main part of our living area. Just have the couch and dining table and benches to do yet, and a vintage trunk.  Next up will be my computer room-ranch oak desk and several vintage cabinets and my weaving loom and bench.  I think I will do the floors after that, and then tackle my kitchen-that's a big job but needs doing too.

I saved out 9  water gallon bottles to make into growing seeds. Will plant the cotton seeds first and then see what is in my seed stash. Not doing lots like I did last year.  Next week the grass will need to be cut before it gets too tall.

Larry did allot of walking with his walker yesterday, today he feels ill- will probably sleep most of the day today. Adding it up the home health team was out to our home for 5 months, so thinking Medicare cut them off even though he really needs another month to tackle the steps and hill. We are thankful for their care during that time.

  Happy weekend!

  1. You go Larry!! Like my hubby you must remember not to do so much that you have a set back... And you go to Kathy with all that cleaning! I received your lovely Spring booklet! Thank you so much!!! I've just had my 5yr old Granddaughter for her first overnight ! We had a great time! Then in the morning her mom and sister came for pancakes that Grandpa made! :) I've got some seeds to plant too! And stuff to get ready for Stock Show... We certainly keep busy don't we?! Big Hugs! deb

  2. Hi Kathy, your amaryllis is beautiful. The flowers are a delight. Good luck with sowing. We also have nice sun today... It's just good, because it really puts you in a good mood. A warm greeting to you and Larry... it's really hard to find the right mix for the load - if you do too little, it doesn't get better - if you do too much, you're overloaded. A hug to both of you.
...A fine cake is baked :-))) I still have friends meeting today. I'm really looking forward to it.

  3. Your flower is gorgeous Kathy. That is really a pleasure to look at. And sounds like you have been busy cleaning. I think you deserve a pat on the back for that. But the part of your post that really spoke to me was that you need to mow your lawn. Wow. We have an inch of slush this morning, and it is raining now. Lawn mowing is still a ways off for me. Have a great rest of your weekend. hugs-Erika

    1. I am soooo not wanting to mow already-as with the property on a slight hill I use a weed eater, I don't like mowers to begin with and not on a hill for sure. waking up this morning we are in the 20's so maybe that will slow the grass smiles. it is all green though
      Happy Sunday

  4. How beautiful amaryllis is. The only downside is that it takes a long time to flower. Larry must take care of himself and look little by little.

    1. Yes it does take another year for the next bloom but worth it I think, as here they bloom indoors when it's too cold for them to be outdoors. Larry does try to pace himself-but sometimes the therapist will overdo it

  5. I hope Larry feels better after some rest. You've been doing a lot. I hope you get your rest as well.
Beautiful flower! The light through the petals is gorgeous.

I made mistake emptying my All Mail folder. Every email I had saved, is gone along with the email addresses of the sender. Evidently, not all email addresses automatically go into the Contacts folder. Please send a quick email. :)

  7. Your amaryllis is beautiful you both have been working hard it is too bad they didn't leave him with a schedule to do daily instead of tiring himself like that and then sleeping the next day. like walk for 10 minutes rest for so long etc I am so sorry it is so frustrating. Do you have a managed care supplement?
We had snow overnight so no grass cutting for us just horrid heavy shoveling

    1. I know sometimes the therapy is too much. they forget about his age and also his other health concerns-frustrating. I am going to call my insurance supplement and see what they say. the home health we got so far was paid by medicare. AT&T changed our supplement this year which gives us more benefits so will find out what they say.
I am glad no more snow here so far. I think we have more rain moving in later this week

  12. A very nice post you are always so busy. I don't have a place to compost either. We are having some sunny weather with little wind. I got strawberries planted today. I hope Larry is getting on without the extra help. Hope you are oK too.
