Finally-Sunshine and a Warm Up & Update

   Good morning,

So good to view full sunshine early this morning, and the wind has left us for now as well. Over the weekend it was wind-rain-cold with no sun.

Sunshine always brightens up my mood for sure.

Larry is still in the hospital, and over the weekends there is no rehab therapy, He is still in extreme pain, and continues refusing those horrible strong pain medications as well. I am praying for and hoping this will be a better week for his rehab with less pain. The hospital had told me medicare will pay for 10 days of rehab but they are wrong they will pay up to 20 days. Am hoping he will be able to maneuver himself from the bed to the wheelchair on his own soon. He needs to be able to do this with no weight on his broken leg before he can come home.  I saw that he posted on facebook over the weekend so that's a good sign as well.

My friends are picking me up for a visit today

Tomorrow begins a warming trend getting into the 70's so I will be able to get back to the rocks and the water drainage pipe project.  With this project I have not been able to weed eat the grass or tend to my perennial gardens, hoping later in the week I can do that If not it will be a big spring project for sure.

Since Friday we finally have fall colors in the leaves, no frost or freeze as of yet

Am also Praying for Peace in Israel

We do have sunshine(for now, rain forecast, along with a dip in temps) but we had frost yesterday and this morning. Not that it matters today we have had our walkway from our front door painted and it has been suggested we try not to walk on it today and that it won't be fully cured for a week!
Sorry to know that Larry is still in a lot of pain, hopefully more rehab and time will aid the healing process.
I hope that you have some success with your drainage project - it looks like a big job (if only we could come and help!)
Enjoy the warmth, the sun and your beautiful Autumn colours!
    Hugs, Chrisx

  2. Good to hear Larry is feeling well enough to post on Facebook... :) I worry that if the pain is already extreme is he going to be able to handle the therapy without pain relief? Can he at least take Tylenol or something? I'm so glad you get to see him today. Its Sunny here... High 75 lows in the 40's... Just wonderful! Take care girlfriend... Hugs! deb

    1. yes the therapy does bring on more intense pain for sure--he is taking a hosp grade of tylenol which takes the edge off a bit-the main issue is he won't eat their horrible food

  5. I do hope he does well with his therapy. I will tell you one thing about the pain meds when your body is in extreme pain the healing part takes longer. My husband was on crazy strong pain med when he had his transplant, and I was very worried about it but truly he has no addiction and they made for a quicker recovery.

    1. I can see that too-but they had him on morphine for several days til he told them to stop that--many of the others have very bad side effects so he just won't take those they give him a hosp grade tylenol which helps a bit

  7. I really hope things turn around quickly for Larry -- it has to hurt you (in a very different way) to see him in such pain. I hope he can get into rehab soon. Thanks for the update.

  8. Praying he gets better soon. They were going to kick my mom out of rehab after two weeks but then she told them she would pay for a third week. So glad she had the monies to do so. Good luck doing the work by yourself now. Janice

  9. I'm glad to hear your weather has improved, but sorry to hear that Larry is still in a lot of pain. Hopefully his rehab stay will be short and he'll be able to maneuver into the wheel chair and get home soon. I hope you had a great visit today. hugs-Erika

  10. Thanks for the update on Larry. Being in constant pain can set him back. I hope the Tylenol works. I hope at some point, you can help get the food situation straightened out. He can't starve for 20 days, that's for sure. Get some rest for you, too, so you will be in a positive mood when he's ready to come home.

    1. I know constant pain doesn't help not a bland diet just horrible food-I saw some of the plates of food and I wouldn't eat it-all the meat looks like frozen cooked and then they warm it up somehow. today I found out they are trying to give him a water pill every day and he only asked to be given one as he needed-he has afib they refused to give it to him, now they are giving him too much of it-and I have tried numerous times to talk to whom ever is in charge and he/she refuses to get in touch. if Larry could manage a bit more I would bring him home for sure very stressful for sure

  12. Thank you for the update on you and Larry's situation.
Eating, well, what Ido is have a glass of water, a bit of chew and swallow small portions. Tell Larry to forget about taste. If the food has nutrition, and not bad for his system, then get it down the best way he can because his body needs nutriction to heal, and manage the pain.
Pain wears away at a person, the person's system.
Consider music therapy, not his playlist/what he likes, but what is body likes, soothing music, nature sounds that speaks good place to his pysche.
There are situations in life that we have to endure, lousy food, people that won't listen, and such. Prayers continue

  13. Being in the hospital is no joke when it comes to getting some decent food and good nutrients to heal. My heart and prayers go out to Larry and hope his pain subsides quickly. One time I had a restaurant meal delivered to a friend who was in the hospital for 10 days. She appreciated it more than flowers. It's.a shame that medicare not the doctors dictate how long a person needs treatment. Praying for his speedy recovery .

  14. It must be bad when you cannot take painkillers. Add that to the boredom of a weekend when nothing is done - same here in Germany, at least I could visit Ingo every day.
Fingers and toes crossed your Larry can come home soon and you can cook for him.
Pain and bad food is a double-bummer. Hope he has at least nice people in the room? Ingo used to have a very bad snorer once over day, another coughing through the night etc, etc...

At least you have sun and warmer weather. I hope the work outside will do youu good... big hugs to you and the lake!
