Good morning, and Happy T
Any one is welcome to join in, just share a drink related photo on your post and link up over at our hostess Bleubeard and Elizabeth-link in side panel. a nice way to share a post amongst friends with a beverage.
We have had soooo much rain most of this month so far, and much more to come if the forecasters are correct. However over the weekend once the rain cleared away mid morning Saturday, the boaters were on the water-and in force. Memorial weekend will be totally bonkers if last year was any indication.
The dock project has been slow going do to cold, rain, and then no shows. Today-Monday the plan is get the two old docks welded together-and then I won't be cringing when the high waves come rushing in from all the boaters-I am someone that is a worrier and stresses out too much.
I grabbed the camera over the weekend. Took several videos just kept one that was so so on Sunday, a few photos on Saturday and also Sunday when friends stopped by and fished for a bit off the dock, and this morning-calm, birds singing, pretty reflections.
This was such a good idea of my husbands a few years ago-in our much older years to move out of the woods and on to a lake-it's been a blessing during lockdowns for sure as we could see people on the lake fishing and boating. We have always been early risers-and Larry is always up very early, by 5 am at the latest he is enjoying a cup of coffee and enjoying lake views and especially all of the numerous birds. I have been joining him these last few days with a cup of (decaf) coffee as well. This morning a piliated woodpecker flew in, ducks and babies swam by, red bellied woodpecker-a regular now-sipping on some hummingbird nectar, fish jumping, and we are really enjoying all the swallows and purple martins-we now have a repaired bird house, and we added a new one.
and sharing one of the videos I took on Sunday-this one doesn't show any of the very loud-fast-beautiful cigarette boats that were in abundance-I think they were out practicing this weekend for a race coming up It does show some of the activity out there on the lake.
Happy T and enjoy your new week ahead
Nice to see how much you enjoy life on the lake!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your videos, Kathy. You are a very lucky lady living by the lake. I want to come in USA and have a coffee with you sitting at your balcony! Let's hope that one day this dream will come true. Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeletewe feel very blessed to have these lovely views-this wall of windows is the main feature of our home-we will need to have virtual coffee together-hugs
DeleteYou live inn a beautiful place Kathy, I would love to sit there and watch the lake, the boats, the birds etc, and of course, drink lots of coffee. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteGood morning Valerie, Yes we are both thankful for our newest "forever" home.(we had thought our woods home would be our forever retirement home) It's especially perfect for my husband-Hopefully once this dock is completed he can get out there and fish-he loves to go fishing.
DeleteThere was certainly a lot of activity on the lake in just that short video. I think it would be fun just to watch the boats go by and the helicopter was a surprise.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you lived so close to your neighbor as to see his boat and boat dock. It's a great reflection shot, though. I really enjoyed all the shots of the lake and reading about all the birds that visit. Of course, that coffee is decadent with the whipped cream. LOVE it.
Thanks for sharing images from the lake and your video, too for T this week, dear Kathy.
Hi yes on busy weekends in the summer there is allot of boats and I enjoy seeing all of the different types of boats.
DeleteWe actually have allot of property between us and neighbors on both sides of us-as our double lot sits on the point. I had to have room around me for this move to work. It's still small compared to our many acres in the woods homes but for a lake home we have space and at a price we could afford when we bought it. However, this area of the lake has "popped" and the prices are already going up allot.
I am loving my whipped cream in my coffee-it melts right into the coffee and adds a little fun -
Lovely view.
ReplyDeleteHappy new week to you dearest Kathy. What a weekend it's bound to be there on your beautiful lake It is good to know that the dock w0rk may be near completion by that time. Your morning cup of coffee looks party pretty. What special times the two of you must have there at water's edge!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, I received your slow mail today-and I loved it! so sweet of you. we are both really enjoying our coffees and breakfast out on the deck early mornings
DeleteSo many beautiful views from your lake. I would want to spend most of my days outside by the lake painting if I had that view.
ReplyDeleteAnd that cream on your coffee looks delicious. One cuppa cream for me!
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
I think that is one of the reasons I decided to attempt painting-as I wish I could sit there and paint what I see. I will still keep trying though or perhaps weave an art piece
DeleteI never used to put anything in my coffee but now I am enjoying the whipped cream lol
a perfect view to awaken and begin a new day. Nothing like being by the water and hearing and seeing the birds in the warm months. We haven't had rain in about two weeks now and it was unusually hot up until today (fire alerts!) so please send some our way:) Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteI will gladly send some of this rain your way-usually by end of June we will get very little rain til fall arrives
DeleteHappy T
Gorgeous lake views Kathy. What a nice way to start the day. Please maybe you can send a little bit of rain my way. It is so dry here. And I'm not a coffee drinker but it looks like a nice way to start the day. And a gorgeous mug too. Have a wonderful T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI will gladly send you some rain as we are getting too much right now. I had to learn to like coffee-I never really cared for it, but I thought I had to drink it when I became an adult-haha. now days I add a little cream to mine.
DeleteOhhh these are gorgeous shots, and the video too. Yes, we are in rain mode as well over here on the Oregon coast. Ohhh what am I saying, we are always in rain mode. Haa haa haa. I thoroughly enjoyed your post and sharing where you live. Have a great evening.
ReplyDeletethank you-I am so glad you enjoyed the photos and video-yes you probably get way more rain than we do-once the rain stops though-some years we will go right into a draught until fall in this area.
DeleteI'm not sure where the Ozarks are (is?) but it looks cold there.
ReplyDeleteHi the Ozarks are in the states of Missouri and Arkansas I am in Missouri and our lake home is on Lake in the Ozarks-which is a very very long man made lake that does flood control and produces electricity-but of course lake homes line the lake.
DeleteIt has been very rainy and chilly here most of May, but the photos were mostly taken early morning when cloudy and a bit cooler
Hmmm... love rain!
ReplyDeleteHey, Sis, worrier here, also. Just let go, run, if in danger. I pack an emergency-kit (PC??) just in case...
5 am. Hubby throws me (not out!) at 4 am ;-)
Oh, boy, this goes on forever?! I like to snuggle up and sleep in a bit!
Well. If we lived like you... I´d be up early (sometimes) too.
Awwww... ohhhh. Yes. I´d be up, seeing your pics!!!
You make me smile so big my face hurts ( a little).
And the cooler!
Wow. The boats are noisy :-(
Luckily we live in the ring-area. But the kids here scream their lungs out (I am old I was not allowed to to this)
Happy, noisy T-day!
Good morning Iris, I love rain too-it's nice to listen to hear as well-but we have just had too much for awhile.
DeleteI am so happy you enjoyed the the photos-yes when there are lots of boats out there on busy weekends it can get loud-and those speed boats are super loud. Happy noisy T day to you as well
Kathy you live in such a beautiful place, the views are amazing, we had a weekend at our friends lake house in CA, so peaceful, I was fascinated by the boat docks too.
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day
Jan S
Hi Jan, yes the reflections from the docks are really neat to see. we are enjoying the views for sure Hugs Kathy
DeleteI hope the weather has warmed up and cleared so you can enjoy morning coffee on the deck. Your lake is so pretty. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteyes we are finally warmer it has been a very cool and wet spring here.
DeleteIf I had your views I would never get anything done. I'd be at the window or sitting outside all day. So calming and peaceful but at the same time enough activity with the boats and the birds to keep it interesting.
ReplyDeleteYes the weekends in the summer and especially the holidays there is lots of activity to watch-the rest of the time very peaceful
DeleteHello! I loved your note-and I WILL answer! I have been bonkers here too-lots of weeding, and trying to finish our kitchen. Everything happens at once, for sure. Your lake is really lovely. I'm an early riser too-it's the best time of the day. Have a good one my friend!
ReplyDeleteNo pressure please-when ever you are in the mood or have the time.
DeleteThis is a busy time of year for the garden and yard. yes early here has been wonderful sitting out on the deck
Y'all take such gorgeous photos of your gorgeous scenery!
ReplyDeleteYou make living on a lake look like the best place to live in the world. Happy Weekend!
This has been a good move for us. we moved out of the woods since it was too much land etc to keep up with especially with my husband's failing health, he loves to fish and he just wanted a lake house-so I said let's do it
DeleteWow! You live in such a beautiful place. The early morning shots are stunning and the reflection of your neighbor's dock is really well done.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are so happy where you are. Choosing your retirement home is very important, and it's difficult to decide as you have no idea what life will be like when you are a certain age.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
I agree it can be difficult to decide where to retire-we bought our home in the woods in 1998 and I retired in 2003 when we moved. Larry has poor health and wanted to be able to fish easier so we spent about 9 months looking at lake homes we could afford-it's been nice here
DeleteThe lake looks so peaceful in your photos, such lovely views to enjoy with your coffee in the mornings 😀. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteIt has been really nice out there early mornings-Happy T
DeleteLovely photos!
ReplyDeleteHAppy T day
Thank you how have you been?
DeleteWow, Kathy. It is beautiful where you live and your project looks like a necessary one with all those boats zooming by so fast. I really enjoyed your pictures. I bet your coffee tastes even better on that pretty deck! Happy late T-day. Hugz
ReplyDeleteGood morning, yes this dock so needs get finished before memorial day-they got allot of the welding together finished a couple more days for that part.
Deletewe really are enjoying the views-and wildlife Happy T
Early morning coffee sounds like a great plan with so much to see and to enjoy the peace before the boats start. They seem to come quite close no wonder there are waves. Glad you made the right choice to move though! Belated Happy T day, Chrisx
ReplyDeletethank you Chris-yes we needed to get a buoy out 100 feet from our dock to keep boats back a bit otherwise they come so close they could touch our dock. we are really enjoying the views and all the birds we see-especially getting out there on the deck really early
DeleteWhen there are turbulent thoughts I should think that just popping out on to your deck and contemplating all these wonderful views just brushes them all away! Wonderful images. I particularly like the ones of your birdhouse. It looks like a pagoda floating on the lake! keep well Amanda x
ReplyDeleteI agree!! I am so happy we were able to get this second birdhouse up-it is a purple martin house and they eat lots of little bugs like mosquitos. our friend near the woods house didn't want hers anymore so she gave it house and pole to us-very thankful.
