Today although pretty cool we have bright full sunshine and so far no wind. Last night the winds were really strong again with at freezing night temperatures.
The redbuds are still pretty here too even after all the crazy weather. I just took these photos now, this pretty red bud tree sits behind my mailbox. The red roof is our garage

Below photo is me standing on top of our driveway looking at this pretty red bud in our neighbor's yard
Have any of you tried out the new laundry supplies available now-pods-sheets? With my different allergies I have always needed to go with fragrance free on everything. I had been using the All fragrance free pods for awhile now. At Sam's Club they were always a good buy opposed to the stores.
The last couple of years though I have been trying out more earth friendly packaging I bought when on sale Free the Ocean's laundry sheets. They do a good job but too expensive even on sale.
Over a year ago now I tried out Clean People pods for laundry. I love them and their packing is in cardboard little boxes. When they had a big sale last year I stocked up and they were less expensive than All pods were. Clean People is based in Canada some products like laundry pods made in America.
Instead of liquid bottles of non chlorine bleach-they offer a granular product that works really really well.
I find the pods or sheets work equally well but I like the pods
Another photo from today phlox and a few of my bottles with seeds
I haven't found a ice cream I like---less sugar, less lactose, less fat so I decided to freeze up some peach kefir that I also added organic diced canned peaches to. So easy turned out perfect. Next time I will add a bit of sweetener
Those redbuds are beautiful. They have so much color and are so delicate. And what a good idea t freeze some kefir and fruit. I like kefir a lot just as a drink, so I bet it does make delicious "ice cream". Hope all is well and you didn't get hit with the bad weather. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteGood evening, I had not seen redbud or dogwood trees til we moved to Missouri. they are beautiful in the landscapes. The frozen kefir turned out really good-but I would add a little sweetener next time. we missed the really bad weather-thanks
DeleteLovely redbuds -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeletethank you
DeleteYou 'v e been busy! That NOT ice cream looks yummy... I use Gain liquid detergent and Gain fabric softner and Gain dryer sheets... for years.... love the smell... i'm thankful noone in my family has allergies to it... This has been a busy week with kiddos and hubs playing golf .... waiting patiently to go see my ribbons at the stock show... I made a post on the blog since i already looked up the results... LOVE the pictures of the RedBuds ... i just love redbuds... They have an Oklahoma RedBud that does well here... i just may need one.... Good to see a post from you! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteGood morning it turned out really good but after being frozen it is more tart so next time will add a little sweetener to it.
Deletethat's nice to not have allergies with odors-I have too sensitive of a system for that is for sure-ugh.
take photos of your ribbons when you get to see them.
When we first bought our missouri property for our retirement-driving down from Illinois when the redbuds and dogwoods were in bloom was just so gorgeous I am amazed the blooms are still on trees with all the storms that came through. Have a good week hugs
I so loved my Redbud tree but it died a few years ago. They are so pretty. Interesting read on the laundry pods. Janice
ReplyDeleteI don't think the redbuds last as long like an oak or a maple. They get brittle and break off and die at least here in Missouri they do that. I thought these were interesting too-I really love the Clean People products-they have a good one that cleans the toilet too Happy mid week
DeleteOh my! Those redbuds are just dazzling. We have many of them around here but probably won't see the pink till May (especially since this month has been so cold.) They're lovely!
ReplyDeleteThey are such a lovely tree aren't they happy weekend coming up
DeleteSeeing your trees in bloom makes me wish we had some doing the same, but nit yet and, in fact, it’s lightly snowing as I post this comment, Kathy.
ReplyDeleteAs for the detergent products, I have also been using Clean People brand of laundry detergent strips for the past year after deciding to be using more earth friendly products. Also, I was looking for non-China made products, which can be quite a search and as you noted these are made in Canada. My next try may be Molly’s Suds which are US made. I’ve also switched from dryer sheets to wool dryer balls.
Good morning, Itry not to buy china made but it is difficult now. I don't mind Canada as much. clean people is based there but some of there products are made here in the usa and I like everything I have purchased I did buy some dryer balls but have not used them as of yet. I don't use dryer sheets but I add a fabric softener to the wash instead.
DeleteAlso, I have tried the CP detergent pods but after seeing these are made in the US, may be switching on my next order.
ReplyDeleteJust check their descriptions some of there products are made here in the usa.
DeleteI don't use fabric softener or detergent with any added fragrance. I dry my laundry almost exclusively—almost—in the fresh air, and the wind makes it soft and beautiful... Dear Kathy, your ice cream looks wonderful. I've always had the idea of making my own ice cream in the back of my mind. I have to give it a try sometime... chocolate ice cream with real chocolate... and then, when the strawberries ripen, strawberry ice cream with whipped cream and yogurt... wow, we've had beautiful sunny weather starting today... wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you from Viola - these pink flowers are a dream Kathy.
I loved drying my clothes outdoors on the line. especially when we lived in the woods-the deer would come out and see what I was up to. where we live now not possible to do.
DeleteMaking your own ice cream is fun so many ways and recipes to try out. Sfter being in the freezer this one got hard as a rock so I may need to mix in some milk next time.
We are heading up to almost 90 degrees F Sunday but comes with very very strong winds. Have a good week ahead hugs
