We put the butterball turkey in the smoker yesterday morning. This morning it is looking pretty good so far. We are using apple and cherry smoking wood chips.
Somehow we misplaced the racks that go into the smoker-looked every where and have no clue where they have gone to. So that is why the turkey is in a pan
Oh and blogger found my photos this time in my computer-cool
MMMmmm looks good Kathy!!! Glad you could improvise! AND progress on the camera front.. YES! Today is a beautiful day here... little cool , sunny... We have reason to go to Eldorado (where hubs plays golf 50 miles South) so we are bringing my golf clubs and going to hit a few balls... I need to get planning our Thanksgiving... Lots of baking in my near future with the Grandlittles and for Veteran events and for Soldiers up on the base here.. GoodFellow AFB... busy busy... Hugs! deb

DeleteOh, the wood chips sound yummy and this is the first time I see a turkey - did you fill it?
ReplyDeleteI only saw it in "Cast Away" with Tom Hanks and in Christmas-movies.
How does it taste like? Enjoy, wish I could join you, hugs to you and the lake
good morning, the turkey turned out moist and tasty. Larry has a brine recipe he has used for close to 50 years now-canning salt, brown sugar, pickling spice brown sugar in 2 gallons of water-place the meat in the bucket with a plate on top and a heavy rock for a couple of days-take out rinse a bit and smoke. it has a nice flavor and not too salty
Deleteno for smoking no stuffing added
ooops brown sugar just one
