T Stands for Tuesday & a Look Into my Kitchen

Hi everyone, Wow can you believe we are a week away from Christmas, and today (Sunday) first day of Hanukkah already??

I am posting a bit early again for T where we gather over at Bleubeard and Elizabeths and also share a drink related photo-find link in my side bar.

Sunday was very cold still but we had lots of sunshine. I baked up lots of cut out cookies and in the early evening I worked up 2 pounds of dark chocolate bark-my back is screaming at me to stop already haha.  Hoping tomorrow is a sunny day as well so I can get the brittles made. and then I am done for now, and will call up our friends that I am gifting most of this to, for them to come up for a visit and take home their goodies. I won't get the dipped chocolates done before then, I will make those around New Year's and share with our new neighbor friends that lovessss dark chocolate anything.

I dug out the vintage very large board that was a wedding present from my brother (who sorry to say no longer speaks to us-sad) that I just love and is perfect for the roll out cookies. I have always had a very small kitchen with few places to work-so this board fits perfectly on top of the marble that sits on an island that my husband made for me years ago.

  Here are a few photos

Of course I have a Huge collection of cookie cutters vintage to new, cookie stamps, cookie molds along with a collection of vintage wooden rolling pins-that I love using.

The first two photos are for the gingerbread cookies

These are for the sugar cut out cookies

These reindeer are peanut butter cut out cookies-so good

Gingerbread boys and girls

These below are gluten free gingerbread-and I grabbed my bison, wolf and other animal cutters, and only cut two pairs of gingerbread people

I will put a plain frosting on these cookies, along with the batch of the sugar cut outs. I have never been great at making pretty cookies, never tried piping-so these will be pretty simple

Dark chocolate barks-I worked up two pounds in small batches to make several different toppings I ended up with six different toppings

pistachio and dried fruits

walnuts and fruitcake mixed fruits

This one below is all different fruitcake fruits for Larry-no nuts

How about those KC Chiefs? Very exciting game this week for sure-I didn't have a new drink photo for this week so re sharing my hot cocoa in the chiefs mug. I will be making me up more hot cocoa for sure this coming week-we are going down to 0 degrees f or lower this week

Since my post is already really long I will share my happy mail Christmas cards in another post. Thank you everyone that had send me a card

Happy T everyone Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah

    1. there are so many ways to make up chocolate treats-all so good it is sad that family doesn't want to speak to each other again-I reached out with no luck so won't again and he still lives in Indiana so won't bump into him either

  3. I still haven't baked any cookies...not sure who is going to eat them and I don't want to throw them away after the holidays. Love chocolate bark with pistachios!

  4. Oh your cookies look yummy Kathy. I made some roll out doughs yesterday and then popped them in the fridge so I can make them later this week. I did make some peppermint white chip cookies and some orange zest chocolate chip cookies though. And your bark looks yummy too. It's fun to bake for the holidays for certain, isn't it? I didn't see the chiefs game but Mahone is always fun to watch. The ending of the Pats and Raiders game was quite a surprise, literally in the last few seconds though. Happy new week and happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  8. Your cookie cutters are a LOT like mine that I inherited from my Grandmother. I have the bell and candy cane, the gingerbread guy, too. What fun to go through those cutters and use them. You always make great things at Christmas, dear. Thanks for sharing your Chiefs mug and your cookies and cookie cutters with us for T this week. Happy Chanukah and Happy Holidays.

  9. You did a lot of baking and making, Kathy, and everything looks so good. Can I come by? I haven't made a single cookie yet and I doubt that I will make any. Your chocolate bark looks super delicious, and I also like the animal cookie cutters. The wooden board seems to be perfect - I like to work on wooden boards as well.

I love this wooden board very much-love that it is very large and even has a little back to it and it is also reversible.

  10. Hey Kathy, I will start with the Chiefs. The game I saw was aganst Texas. OMG! The chiefs almost lost to the worst team in the league. Thank goodness for overtime. Now for the cookies. WOW! you do have some great cookie cutters. Well done on all of them. Sorry your brother doesn't speak to you. It is hard when families are split. On a good note stay warm and have a lovely evening. Could you send me the Chocolate Bark recipe? Thanks

    1. I know they made allot of mistakes for sure, and too many penalties which isn't normal for them either. same happened the week before too they almost lost to Denver. thought it was strange that Texas was alternating with two quarterbacks playing the game-never saw that before.
It is sad about my brother, we had reached out too-over something totally foolish as well I won't sweat about it any more.
we have storm coming in with 30 below wind chills brrr not looking forward to that right now. I emailed you about the chocolates

  11. Wonderful you do all the baking for others, Kathy!
When the cold is gone I´ll bake for W. An onion cake :-)
Now that you mention. We always had a smalll kitchen, too.
Once we visited a place too expensive to buy with a dream kitchen. And ended up here.

Oh! "Cool" cookie cutters, esp the bear! A bison?! Never saw that here. And the wolf, so nice.

To be honest... just scrolling through my sweet tooth will hibernate till February! ;-)
Ingo lives on Stollen these days, ugh!
To a sweet Christmas to you and hugs, happy T-Day

  13. It's a meaningful way to keep memories alive :) I enjoy having my vintage cookie cutters. I remember Mother using them.

We're expecting the same arctic blast, I think, though here in Memphis I think we're at the bottom edge. Stay safe!

  21. How fun, that you have so many cookie cutters. All your baked goods look so good! Is gingerbread naturally gluten free? Or you made it that way? I have family coming that are gluten free. So difficult to find things they can eat. I have just been looking for a gluten free dessert. Happy T Day!

    1. Hi Sharon, I commented back on your blog but couldn't tell if it went through or not. I made these cookies gluten free by using Bob's red mill 1-1 gluten free flour-it's the best brand I have tried that really works well converting wheat flour in a recipe to this gluten free brand these cookies all turned really well and you can't tell they are gluten free
