I am enjoying some awesome sunrises this week Here is today's-Wow My camera is not the greatest for capturing these-the sun was totally red this morning
I did get to the grocery store yesterday morning early-the produce was horrible guessing do to the very hot weather this summer. I did buy a few things including some nice fresh strawberries-I will be baking us up my Grandma's recipe for Yellow angel food cakes-which whips up both the whites and yolks seperately. Haven't made that in a long time. They were also very limited in their frozen veggies too.
For curiosity I looked online to see if there were fresh veggie or fruit boxes that ship-Yes there were lots of them including Melissa's organics but very expensive for the amount of food.
We are back to the high heat with humidity again for the next two weeks-nice thing so far this week cool in the mornings-So hoping this week to try cutting grass-ugh
Happy Wednesday!
You do have wonderful sunrises there on the lake. Our sunrises here are through the trees - but still beautiful. I have enjoyed catching up with your posts. We are not looking forward to more hot days, but cooler mornings are encouraging.
ReplyDeleteSame when we lived in the woods-we were surrounded by the tree canopy and rarely saw a sunrise. we got lucky and this lake home is facing the lake in the right direction to view them. same here I am so ready for fall this year
DeleteCooler weather is coming before we know it -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI suspect the way this summer has gone we will also have a very warm september-this reminds me of one of our first summers here in this area 20 years or more ago now.
DeleteThat's a beautiful sunrise. At least on our side of the state the smoke from the Canadian wildfires have enhanced both the sunrises and sunsets.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that is why the sun is sooo red this week. The sunrises have been fabulous this week
DeleteWe have been affected with the Canadian wildfires. It makes for hazy days here. Enjoy your wonderful sunrises. They are spectacular. Janice
ReplyDeleteThank you Janice
DeleteThat's a pretty sunrise Kathy. Hope the cake came out tasty. And stay cool. The heat is coming up my way in a day or 2 also. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYes the cake baked up perfect for Larry-I wasn't up to a gluten free version for me. my biscuits not so good gave them tto the birds.

DeleteOur fruit and veggies at our Walmart always look nice honestly... but we have noticed a few odd things they are low on... like the deli meat that they slice for you.. very low in the case .. not much to choose from.. HOt hot over the weekend then predicting some slight chances of rain Monday and Tues... next week... Fingers crossed or maybe not crossed... then my grass will grow... right now with the heat and no rain some of it is dying back... Took the kiddos to go see the movie Sketch... where this little girls sketches come to life.. pretty cool movie!I took them both by myself for the first time... they were little Angels..:) Eldest Granddaughter is at Cheerleading camp for a couple hours for three days.. tonight we get to go see her perform...lol :)Ohter than that its grass mowing! uuuughh... Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteThis is a smaller wal mart store-not a super wal mart. they usually have pretty good fresh fruits and veggies but lately not good--figured do to the hot weather. we had a few days break with the weather-but then the air quality was really bad here so couldn't get out and cut grass-watching it grow super tall haha
Deletenice you can spend time with the little ones-hugs
It has been a very hard summer to grow things this year with the haze from the fires and the heat and humidity
ReplyDeleteCathy
Agree-a rough summer for sure at least most of my plants are perennials and will come back next year
