Good afternoon Saturday,
Perfect weather today, not too hot or humid. I cut some grass this morning. I just do one of the large batteries at a time to keep my back from aching too much. Yesterday I finally got the chest freezer emptied and cleaned. This is an old one, so it ice's up fairly fast on me with the bad seal. I have no clue how to change a seal. This was so needed to get done as I kept putting it off-now I know how much meat I have in there and the newer meat is now on the bottom so I can use up the 2024 meat.
I wanted to share a new watercolor book I just ordered-and I found a spiral-which will be soooo much nicer to use. I really want to try painting again so am hoping this will help me This is wildflowers and herbs.
I also found a video where the person sharing this book-flips though some of the pages find here
Hubby will be really sore tomorrow morning or even tonight but I know he felt good getting out to use one of his pieces of heavy equipment. One of our workers came out today to work on the walk way on the side of the house-out the basement door-down to the lake. There were two large tree stumps that needed to come out. This property is also built on solid rock, so it is quite the task to get posts dug deep enough for the hand railing that is getting built-Larry's goal is to be able to get on the dock to fish or even into his boat. Not sure about the boat but won't discourage him
I made us biscuits and gravy yesterday-always a good treat.
Enjoy your weekend!!
Spiral is great and the cover is lovely.
ReplyDeleteYes spiral work books are sooo much nicer to learn from
DeleteThe book looks lovely, looking forward to seeing your art! Good luck to Larry.
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine I want to try painting again-Larry enjoyed getting out and doing what he likes-but his pain level is pretty high again-sadly
DeleteGlad your weather has cleared out-we're in the rain now. My house is also built on rock, so I can relate to getting anything put deep into the ground. Have fun with your watercolor book. That's a super idea and way to get into painting again. Happy Jyne Kathy. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteGood morning and thank you wow I was not paying attention that today is June 1st June 5th will be our 43rd anniversary
DeleteHappy new week
Its good to have a goal.... its keeps you moving... I'm off here in a few minutes to go mow some grass/weeds myself... We've had so much RAIN!! Crazy wet month of May... I don't dare complain but oh the grass is growing!!... Things keep coming between me an mowing... Drs appts, outings with the Littles, Bday parties... But today i HAVE to mow... I may even mow this morning and then again this evening... we'll see... I see on your sidebar that Yellowstone is 39 degrees... oooohhh i can only wish...lol Take care Kathy! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteGood morning- I just saw we have more rain coming in on tuesday. Instead of going grocery shopping this morning I need to get out and mow too before it gets much taller-ugh.
DeleteOur-friends that work for us keep asking me if I want a lawn mower-no I tell them-I am an accident waiting to happen and this property is on a hill-I can see me flipping into the lake haha and I can't pick up gas cans either-so the weed eater it is.
Yes Yellowstone can get snow in any month
Hubby keeps wanting to kill all the grass and weeds out and Son in law wants to do the yard for me... but so far i keep telling them... this is good for me.. .I get out with the weedeater most mornings for about an hour... its good exercise... gets me outside... so , so far i'm good... I have a little push mower that starts on the first pull!! and i can mow a little bit of the yard that is not rocky.. I work on getting the rocks up but oh my there are so many rocks... lol The mower has front wheels that assist... so that helps too.. So i tell them not to take away a good habit... lol I think we are expecting rain too this week... our chances are not too high but maybe... Take care and don't work too hard... Hugs! deb
DeleteOne side to right we want to lay rock down-Larry had scraped that side and then soon after he had that bad fall-so that side is such a mess to do nothing but weeds now. It is good exercise for sure--I am 75 now so just have to pace myself more this year than I was used to.
Deletewe have lots of rocks here too and with the oak tree always so many limbs large and small to pick up. I try not to complain-as I could not live in a city or suburb-rural is better for us.
The book looks interesting. I need to get to a bookstore to browse soon.
ReplyDeleteGood for your husband for having big goals it has been a long haul for him and you.
Cathy
Thanks Cathy-yes it has been long for Larry-two years this October. he was in extreme pain yesterday sadly
DeleteAn interesting book. I was not much into watercolor...but I did love drawing, in both pencil and graphite. Janice
ReplyDeleteGood morning, I am not very good with painting but wanted to try again
DeleteI just saw that book the last time I went to the art store and I was sorely tempted. It looks very useful and well put together. Nice find1
ReplyDeleteGood morning, thank you about the book-it was a bit of a money splurge especially the extra money for spiral but that will be much more useful to use while painting. I thought this book looked pretty good for a beginner
DeleteHappy new week
Kathy this book looks wonderful. I am going to check out the flip through and Instagram sight. Biscuits and gravy sound like a lovely weekend treat. I wish I would have known - would have stopped by (LOL)!
