Good Morning

We have had such a beautiful October month so far. Monday we were almost 90 degrees F. Wow and the leaves are beginning to fall now. We will start cooling back down rest of this week.

I did get the last of this year's grass cutting done-what a relief that is. The guys have gotten the water projects fixed-sadly we got ripped off with the lift-wires were burned off or broken. Of course when Larry contacted the seller no reply. Larry is working on figuring it out. Since the lift goes up ad down it is a complicated motor-and expensive if he could fine one.

Larry starts back on physical therapy this week-hoping that helps him get stronger. He still has one leg that will just go out on him with no notice..

My slow stitched first bag is getting closer to having the stitching finished. In another day or two  I will be sewing the other panel to it and completing the first bag. Enjoying this project, and I think it will go faster going forward.

and----- today is a big one for me-I turn 75 today-haven't wrapped my head around this yet-smiles.

I did bake up a cheesecake last night to celebrate both of our October birthdays. This time I swirled in blueberry preserves-it baked up pretty.. I always seem to end up with a big crack on top of my cheesecakes.

Enjoy the last of these autumn days

    1. It is difficult to wrap my head around being 75 that's a lot of years for sure-lots of memories go with it.
Larry thinks he may have found a motor online-hoping so

  5. I'm so sorry to hear that about the lift Kathy... that would have been wonderful for Larry... Its too bad you couldn't have looked at it before buying it.. Happy happy Birthday Kathy!!! I hope your envelope makes it there today!!! Its been a little too HOT here for me this October... Mornings are wonderful but the afternoons are downright HOT.. in the 90's... Your cheesecake looks wonderful... I'm not sure how you stop getting a crack... Does your recipe require you to put it in the oven?? If so you might put a pan of water in there to up the moisture level... I've only made instant type cheesecakes where i might put the crust in the oven but not once filled... you? Hugs! deb

    1. I have always baked them in the oven -a pan of water might be a good idea thanks.
we were 90 on Monday mid 80's yesterday and today it is very very wind and cooler. so the leaves are "raining" down on us. I wanted to make the acorn ink outdoors but way too wind for the today.
I will be checking my mailbox soon hugs

  6. That's such a shame (and some other things) about the lift. It's not right. We've had a lovely month too, although now we're cool off quite a bit. Your cheesecake does look gorgeous. I hope everyone has/had a happy birthday. hugs-Erika

    1. Hi Erika it was much colder and very windy today so I just enjoyed doing a lot of slow stitches. the cheesecake turned out pretty good and may need to freeze some of it-a lot for two seniors haha
this is a huge bummer about the lift-Larry did spend most of this morning exploring the internet and may have found a motor
      Happy Friday and weekend hugs

  8. Belated 🎂wishes to you and Larry and what a delicious looking cheesecake and you reminded me that it’s been years since I have made one. Mine always cracked as well, but still tasted delicious as sure yours did too😋

Agreed that the story about the lift motor is a bummer and hope there’s a solution, shame on that company😕

    1. Good morning I don't make the cheesecake real often since It is just the two of us-I may freeze some of this one.
Larry is searching online for a motor replacement

  9. Oh Kathy - Happy belated birthday. Wow 75 and still going strong. You inspire me friend. Your cheesecake looks excellent. Sorry about Larry's lift...am sure that has to be a big disappointment. Perhaps he will be able to figure out how to make it work. Take care and enjoy finishing up your project. Have a good weekend. Hugs!

  10. Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a great day. The cheesecake looked good even with the cracks. When reading about Larry's lift I had some choice words for that seller, but will say here that sure does stink. Janice
