I have done allot of listening and reading over the past year on the wearing of masks. If one remembers from the very beginning, even many doctors including Faucci were saying the science is not there that masks work. (later he has pushed masks)
What really Does work is the constant washing of hands and sanitizing surfaces especially in the work place or at home if you are in and out allot.
I just ran into this article "Masking: A Careful Review of the Evidence" which I believe is a really good read-very long but I read through most all of it. If you believe in the Science (or if you don't) I feel this is a really good read here from AIER (American Institute for Economic Research)
It covers allot of material, even how did "they" come up with the 6 ft distancing here in the states while in other countries the social distancing was much less
I am not pushing any political view points here-so I will leave comments on unless this changes to politics. This is information that for me was good to read and I can decide for myself what I think about it. Most of this is what I have believed all along.
Thanks for sharing this information. I think Fauci now says wearing two masks is better than wearing one. I'm just using my own best judgement, on what precautions to take, and so far, so good. But I know people who have caught it despite using all of the best practices. And now with the mutations showing up, and pharmaceuticals saying they need to make a new vaccine for one of those variants, it seems the end is nowhere in sight.
ReplyDeleteFauci is constantly changing what he thinks I no longer listen to anything he has to say. we have known several too that went by all the "rules" and still got the covid. I am usually for vaccines but we decided not to take these first go round vaccines-too many have died from these shots already-those with breathing problems-me having asthma, and heart health issues-my husband. we stay away from the public as much as possible, and I sanitize everything down when I go food shopping.
DeleteWe wear masks... one not two and will continue to do so along with our other precautions... so far so good.. And we will be taking the vaccine as soon as possible. As always thanks for the info Kathy. Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteYour welcome-hugs
DeleteYupp. I read a science book on that in June (ohhhh. bullshitting here? It´s true! ;-)...).
ReplyDeleteThey gave the size of a "Corinna" and of pores of a mask.
Like an open window. Had a huge fight with my Brother on this.
Yes. You can hardly breathe. Distance!!! So simple. Noooo. People wear masks, feel safe and bump right into you.
Bavaria wants it´s people to wear the extra-expensive "super-masks".
Nope.
They cannot take control anyways. It´s kindy. Making money.
I agree-
DeleteExcellent article from a credible source. You're a font of knowledge. Hugs, Eileen
ReplyDeleteThank you, I really thought this was worth sharing-hopefully some will look into this. good luck tomorrow-hugs
DeleteTwo masks unless done right, restrict breathing too much for me. 20 feet distance sneezing travels is what I knew for 70 years. 6 feet helps decrease the volume/amount/intensity of droplets available to reach me is now what I believe.
ReplyDeleteReading the science is smart.
my opinion more than one mask is ridiculous and I have asthma so I have a difficult breathing by the time I am done food shopping-there is no way I could wear one if I was still working full time.
Deletereading different sources of the science is one of the best things we can do for ourselves to stay informed thanks for stopping by and commenting
Yes, it's difficult to know what exactly to do and they keep changing because knowledge evolves.
ReplyDeleteI think that washing hands with soap (scrub) is the best way to get rid of the fatty outer layer of the virus , the hotter the better (i.e. wash with hot water).
The masks are good for preventing you from touching your face.
I don't know if this was your T-Day post, but happy T-Day anyway,
Hugs,
Lisca
Hi Lisca thanks for stopping by-I agree that washing hands is one of the best things to be done-and often if in contact with people. and I think they said to wash for around 20 seconds. Happy T I am taking a break for a bit from T-less stress for me, but still posting a bit and visiting friends
DeleteEveryone is different with different needs. As for masking, whether it’s breathing well enough or allergy issues (that can cause coughing and sneezing that propelgerms far into the air).My feeling is that no precaution can hurt!
