Wow a couple days ago we were in the high 60's f with sunshine which really got the thaw started. Since then still below 30's most nights but getting up into the 40's and 50's with mostly sunshine.
Late yesterday we could finally see lake water across from us. Photos beginning with yesterday and ending with early this morning.
The lake began to freeze across from us towards us and it is thawing in the same way
Wonderful, spring is coming!
ReplyDeleteWe are sure hoping so
DeleteGreat pictures, Kathy! I love seeing water instead of ice on the lake. Hopefully the eagles will return now. All the ice on the ponds here is gone now. A couple of warm 75 degree days took care of that. We loved getting out the door without a coat!
ReplyDeleteI had one day where I could get up to the mailbox with no coat-was nice. We haven't gotten that warm yet. and we have a male eagle visiting this morning-singing away-loving it
DeleteIt is awesome to see ice for awhile and especially when it is a whole lake that is frozen over. I am sure that feeling wears off quick though and it is far better to see spring is on its way in and the cold will gradually disappear. Fabulous to hear that the eagle has returned to the area. keep well Amanda x
ReplyDeleteThe iced lake was really gorgeous at times, and with mostly cloudy days looked as cold as it was. It could stay iced longer if it wasn't for the concern of damages to everyone's docks and boats.
Deletetake care
Open water never look so good! Lovely photos
ReplyDeleteYour flower arrangement looks like my table, always the smaller vase for the bloom that broke off.
Thank you so much and for dropping by for a visit
DeleteSigns of spring! I heard spring birds today as I walked in the woods to retrieve my trail camera. New deer video coming.
ReplyDeletewe heard a few song birds too-makes me smile
DeleteYou have spring thaw. Hurrah. I bet you will be glad to see the ice go away and it warming up again. And I love your vase with those pretty flowers. have a great end of your week. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteyes this thaw is a welcome site for sure. Thank you this vase is a hand thrown pottery piece one of my favorites I picked up back in the '90s happy weekend
DeleteLooove your lake pics, so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd awwww, the flower in the cup, very sweet of you!

DeleteWonderful photos. I'm glad it's warming up there.
ReplyDeletethank you me too
DeleteIt appears I'm once again running behind visiting your blog. I'll be by tomorrow (Sunday) to catch up on what I've missed. At least that's the plan, anyway, Kathy.
ReplyDeleteNo worries Elizabeth-take care of your eyes first-hugs
DeleteYour lake is so beautiful. I hope your warm weather lasts! We're almost into spring!!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Debra, we are still below 30 in the evenings, but the days are warming up and most of the lake is unfrozen although ameron continues to lower the lake which is not good for the docks and boats-they to lower to make electric
DeleteWow, the photos of the lake with the nice thawing are fabulous! Your can really see the ice in the morning shots, so beautiful and peaceful. So nice to get warmer weather, we have had so e sunny days here too - yay 😀. Those flowers look beautiful! Happy weekend wishes! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, It was interesting to watch the ice melt towards us, just a little left now. Hope your weekend was wonderful-hugs
DeleteLovely photos - can't imagine how cold it must still be! I bought flowers with my food order last week - yes, cheers a day! Chrisxx
ReplyDeleteThank you we had 3 weeks with very very cold weather-glad it is much better now. I am really enjoying these flowers
DeleteFlowers in the home are a source of delight always, and a simple thing to bring cheer in the dead of winter.
ReplyDeleteI so agree, we had been so cold with gloomy grey skies I need to bring home some sunshine
