So last night I grabbed a couple inspirational magazine photos and painted Flowers for AJJ
Very therapeutic for sure, when finished I realized the position of some of the flowers were not balanced-but decided not to worry over it-as I got paint in my painting journal
I am linking up over Art Journal Journey for the theme Flowers
Happy weekend everyone!
These flowers are wonderful Kathy. They must make you smile as they did me. Hope your stress mode is gone or going away. Did painting help? It always helps me. In fact, I need more studio time right now but with outside work and online school, I am not getting as much as I need and it is making me cranky (at least a bit). Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece with us at Art Journal Journey. Much appreciated. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYes painting did help-I should have tried to paint last week but I just couldn't get motivated for anything.
DeleteI love your paintings more every new day, Kathy! Keep painting! You are really good! Thank you for joining the AJJ Challenge with your beautiful page. Kisses, my friend.

DeleteWhat a so so Gorgeous Art journal page Kathy !! I looove it, the flowers are so bright and happy, the colours are really beautiful. I also like to paint, draw, do some pages or card, it helps me a lot every day, we need to be creative, not just for stressing days, but also for our soul.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice evening and a happy Sunday dear friend, stay safe and well, and I send big hugs

ReplyDeleteI wish you a nice weekend, Elke
Thank you Elke-you as well
DeleteThe flowers look lovely and your painting is beautiful. Flowers always seem to bring a smile and some joy when we see them, they lift the spirits. . I hope your stress levels are going down, having to stay indoors doesn't help either.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and keep well.

Hi Yvonne, yep finally get back to more "normal" b/p numbers finally down and we had a nice day yesterday-storms coming in today
DeleteLovely painting!
ReplyDeleteWow, Kathy. You paint SO much better than I could ever possibly. Just not in my wheelhouse. I can see how this could be relaxing for you. Great basket of flowers, too. Thanks for sharing this with us using Mia's theme at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteThank you Elizabeth
DeleteYour painting is lovely! I hope your stress level has gone down.
ReplyDeleteAbout the walnuts for ink and dye-it's been about 20 years since I did it, but I think all I did was to break up the outer green shells that are around the nut and put that in a pail and added water. I think you just cover them-don't use a lot of water. You can always add more later. Of course you know about wearing gloves-rubber ones-it's hard to get off skin, and probably any table surface, so use caution. We used a rag to sift off the ink, then stored it in a quart jar. It kept for a long time.
Yes stress level coming down finally, and we had a nice day yesterday.
DeleteI have made a dye from walnuts in the past but had not concentrated it down to an ink. I am going to boil this down outdoors on the firepit-when i know there will be no rain for a couple of days. so you didn't add any preservative to the ink? I would rather not
Nice feeling is upon your beautifully painted flowers.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much-hugs
